The Topeka Daily Capital Saturday June 10, 1939 Mrs. Alice J. Wood. Funeral services for Mrs. Alice J. Wood, 76, of 419 Western Aveune, who died Friday in a local hospital, will be Monday morning at 10 o'clock at Penwell's Funeral Home, with interment in Memorial Park Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the funeral home until the time of service. Mrs. Wood was born June 5, 1863, in Mt.Pleasant, Iowa, came to Kansas in 1894, settling at Arkansas City. Later she moved to Clay Center, then came to Topeka and had been a resident here for the past twenty-two years. She is survived by one daughter, Miss Ina Wood, of the home; three sons, Kenneth R. Wood, also of the home; L.H. Wood, Salilna and W.L. Wood, Oklahoma City, Okla.; two brothers, N.E. Keller, Topeka, and V.D. Keller, Coffeyville; three sisters, Mrs. Belle Strawn, Topeka; Mrs. Lettie Beeler, Creston, Iowa, and Mrs. Nora Von Stine, Kent, Iowa; one step-brother, Frank Barker, Pittsburg; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
