The Topeka Daily Capital Sunday April 2, 1961 John Wilson Dies at Age 67. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Wall-Diffenderfer Chapel for John Melvin (Jim) WILSON, 67, of 629 Garfield, who died here in a hospital Saturday. Born July 2, 1893 at Grantville, he lived in Topeka 17 years. Mr. Wilson was a mechanic 46 years and retired last spring from Ike's Motor Service. He was a member of the Lowman Memorial Methodist Church, a veteran of World War I, the National Rifle Association, Capital City Rifle Club and an instructor of a junior rifle team. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Bertha G. Wilson at home; a son, Glenn M. Wilson, 1713 W. 24th; two daughters, Mrs. Grace Walker, 1906 E. 26th, and Mrs. Mary Beth Chop of Clearwater, Fla.; a sister, Miss Nina Wilson, Route 3; two brothers, Vernon Wilson of Larog, Fla., and Harry Wilson, Route 3; and four grandchildren. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
