The Topeka Daily Capital Friday January 12, 1951 Henry William Banaka. Henry William BANAKA, 66, of Holton, died Thursday at the Holton hospital after a long illness. He was born March 2, 1885, at Whiting, Kan., and was a lifelong resident of Jackson County. For a number of years he was engaged in the hardware business and farming at Netawaka. Mr. Banaka moved to Holton in 1930, where he was employed by the county highway department. He later served three terms as register of deeds for Jackson County. He was a member of the First Methodist Church of Holton. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Louise Banaka of the home; one son, Lloyd J. Banaka, Holton; five daughters, Mrs. Henry Knoutt, Holton; Mrs. J.M. Haskins,Jr., Mobile, Ala., Mrs. Lester Painter, Topeka; Mrs. Dick Minor, Jacksonville, Ill., and Miss Joanne Banaka, of Topeka. Also surviving are one brother, Frank of Whiting and one sister, Mrs. Ida Webb, Los Angeles, and 11 grandchildren.
