    3. The Topeka Daily Capital Monday March 24, 1958 Rev. Bernard Young. The Rev. Bernard F. YOUNG, 79, retired minister of the Central Kansas Methodist Conference, died Saturday night at the Methodist Home for the Aged. He was born April 21, 1878, near Ft. Scott. After graduating from the Ft. Scott High School, he entered Baker University where he was graduated with a B.A. Degree in 1907. He then went into the Indian Territory as a missionary among the Indians. Three years afterward he entered the Iliff School of Theology where he received his Bachelor of Divinity Degree in 1913. He returned to Kansas in 1915 where he served for 46 years before retiring. Among the charge he served included Pretty Prairie, Haviland, South Hutchinson, Geuda Springs, Argonia, Belle Plaine, Ellinwood, Englewood, Coats,Haven,Antrim, Adover; Belpre-Zook, Elkhart, Moscow and Milton. He returned to Winfield in 1954 and became custodian of the historical society. From an empty room in the library at Southwestern College, he established a research room of Methodism. He entered the Methodist Home for the Aged March 2, this year. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Rosa C. Young, also of the Methodist Home; two sons, W.Telford Young, Wichita, and James W. Young, Topeka; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Paul B. Young, Wichita; nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild, three nieces and a nephew. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Methodist Home with graveside services at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Spring Hill. The Wall-Diffenderfer Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
