The Topeka Daily Capital Thursday March 2, 1961 Walter Conroy Is Dead at 86; Rites Saturday. Walter D. CONROY, 1219 N. Van Buren, a retired grocer, died Wednesday in a Topeka hospital. He was 86. He was born in Lay Place, Ill., Dec. 13, 1874, and came to Kansas with his parents when he was six. He lived here since 1915. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Lola Bowman, 208 E. Lyman Rd; two sisters, Mrs. J.A. Shirely, 1525 W. 15th, and Mrs. Lula Neill of Effingham; three grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Parker Mortuary with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.
