The Topeka Daily Capital Saturday June 10, 1939 A.S. Wolverton, Well Known Topekan, Dead. A.S. WOLVERTON, 65, well-known Topekan, died suddenly at his home, 301 West Thirteenth Street, last night. Mr. Wolverton was in the yard at his home. He suffered a stroke and was taken to the porch. He died shortly afterward. Mr. Wolverton was born December 4, 1873, near Holton, and had been a resident of Kansas all his life. He was a former circulation manager of The Topeka Daily Capital for a number of years. For the past fourteen years he has been manager of the safety deposit department of the Central National Bank. He was a Spanish War Veteran and a thirty-second degree Mason. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Kate Wolverton of the home; one stepson, Joe D. Papin, Topeka, and one sister, Mrs. Arthur Christian, Holton. The body was taken to Penwell's Funeral Home pending funeral arrangements.
