The Topeka Daily Capital Tuesday November 1, 1961 John Schwindt Dies at Age 64. Services for John SCHWINDT, 64, 2306 Gabler, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Penwell-Gabel Chapel with burial at 2:30 p.m. in Big Creek Cemetery near Burlington. Mr. Schwindt died Monday at his home after a short illness. Born Jan. 18, 1896, in Russia, he came to Kansas City in 1912 and lived in Coffey County before moving to Topeka in 1942. Survivors include his widow of the home; six sons, John Schwindt and Richard Schwindt, both of the home; Ed Schwindt, 1400 Polk, Clarence Schwindt, 1229 Polk, William Schwindt of El Dorado and Victor Schwindt of Winfield; a daughter, Mrs. Esther Fitchens of Seattle, Wash.; nine grandchildren; one brother, George Schwindt of LeRoy, and six sisters, Mrs. Katherine Stroud of LeRoy, Mrs. Bertha Kraft of Denver, Mrs. Mary Jones of Kansas City, Kan., Mrs. Emma Hayson of Albert Lea, Minn.; Mrs. Lydia Markley, 101 Fillmore, and Mrs. Elsie Williams, 1147 Meadow Lane.
