The Topeka Daily Capital Saturday October 6, 1951 Former Topekan Killed in Fall. A.E. "Tex" BASS, 51, former Topeka used car dealer, was killed Thursday in a fall from an electric power pole while installing wiring to a house in Caney. Mr. Bass was a lineman for the Kansas Power & Light Co. at one time but an injury forced him to leave this trade. He operated the Bass Used Car establishment in Topeka several years before World War II. He went into defense work as an electrician during the war. He helped to install the wiring for the dam at Fall River, Kan. He had been in the electrical business in Caney since the completion of the dam. He is survived by a son, Clyde Kile, of the Walters Air Force Base in Texas; a sister, Mrs. Ruby Clemans, Erie; and three brothers, John Bass of Erie; Roy Bass of Walnut and C.L. Bass, Chelsea, Okla. The funeral will be at 10 a.m Saturday at Caney.
