The Topeka Daily Capital Thursday August 31, 1961 Joda Lyman Hill. Joda (Joe) Lyman HILL, 68, of Berryton, died in a Topeka hospital Wednesday following a long illness. He was born in Lizton, Ind., Nov. 30, 1892, and lived in the Topeka and Berryton communities since 1915. He was employed with the Topeka Transportation Co. as a mechanic until his retirement in 1960. Mr. Hill was a member of the Berryton EUB Church. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Ethel Hill, at home; two sons, Jarvis Lyman Hill of Denver, and Thayne K. Hill of Oklahoma City, Okla.; eight grandchildren; and a brother, George Hill of Manhattan. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday in Penwell-Gabel Chapel with burial in Berryton Cemetery. The family requests that any memorial contributions be made to the Berryton Church parsonage fund.
