The Topeka Daily Capital Thursday November 4, 1965 Maude McVicar Dead Here at 85. Mrs. Maude Ashton McVICAR, 85, 1016 Jefferson, died Wednesday in a local hospital after a brief illness. She was born Oct. 10, 1880, in West Devin, Prince Edward Island, Canada. She had been a resident of Topeka most of her life. She was a member of the First Congregational Church. She was housekeeper for many years for the late John S. Dawson, Chief Justice of the Kansas Supreme Court, before she retired in 1960. She was married to Robe E. McVicar, June 10, 1930, in Topeka. Mrs. McVicar is survived by her husband, of the home; one brother, Steven W. ASHTON, South Pasadena, Calif.; and one sister, Mrs. Ralph O. PUXTON, Boston, Mass. Wall-Diffenderfer Mortuary will announce funeral arrangements.
