The Topeka Daily Capital Friday August 25, 1961 Mrs. Washam Is Dead at 81; Rites Pending. Services are pending for Mrs. Mattie Cynthia WASHAM, a resident of Topeka more that 60 years, who died at her home, 624 Fillmore, Thursday. She was 81. She was born at Riverside, Tex., Oct. 18, 1879, and was the widow of the late Robert (Dutch) Washam, who died about 20 years ago. Mrs. Washam was a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Hardy EPPS at home; a niece, Mrs. Marie PREER, 1403 Van Buren; a nephew, Earl GURDEN, 423 Lime; and a cousin. The Gaines and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
