The Topeka Daily Capital Thursday November 8, 1951 Bert Nelson Mead. Bert Nelson MEAD, 68, retired Smith County farmer, died Wednesday at his home, 1129 Cambridge. He was born January 28, 1883 in Iowa, and moved to Topeka from Smith Center three years ago. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Bertha Mead, of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Betty Cazier, Topeka; a stepson, W.H. PATTERSON, Route 1, Lecompton; a grandson, and two sisters, Mrs. Sherm Middaugh, Smith Center, and Mrs. Faith Hardacre, Topeka. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday, at the Simmons Chapel in Smith Center.
