    3. The Topeka Daily Capital Friday March 3, 1961 J.L. Van Hole, 88, Dies at Home. J.L. VAN HOLE of Route 6, retired Kaw Valley farmer and former chairman of the Kaw River Drainage Board, died Thursday at his home following several weeks' of illness. He was 88. He was a member of teh board from 1917 to 1947 and served as chairman from 1929 until retirement in 1947. He was born in Renaix, Belgium, Aug. 26, 1872, and came to the United States in 1884. Mr. Van Hole lived in the St. Marys community until 1908 when he moved to Topeka. He was a member of Assumption Catholic Church. He and and his widow, Mrs. Lena Van Hole, would have celebrated their 63rd weding anniversary in April. Other survivors are a son, Donald Van Hole, also at home; four daughters, Mrs. Ella Lux of Kansas City, Mrs. Edna Habig, 629 Twiss, Mrs. Dorothy Glotzbach of Route 8, and Mrs. Marcella Melton of Route 4; a brother, Jerome Van Hole of St. Marys; 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Brennan Funeral Home will announce arrangements.
