The Topeka Daily Capital Saturday March 4, 1961 Guy W. Axtell Dies at Age 72; Rites Monday. Services for Guy W. AXTELL, 72, of Route 4, will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Penwell-Gabel Chapel with burial in Bethel Cemetery south of Tecumseh. He died Friday at home. He was a resident of the Topeka community 58 years and was a former Santa Fe Railway employe. Mr. Axtell was born Feb. 14, 1889, at Underwood, Iowa, was a farmer a few years, and served in World War I with the Marine Corps. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Nellie Axtell at home; a daughter, Mrs. Rachel Stang of La Grange, Ill.; two sisters, Mrs. Hazel Heien and Mrs. Mabel Carver, twins, both of Olathe, and three grandchildren.
