The Topeka Daily Capital Monday October 8, 1951 George S. Wharton. George Smith WHARTON, 77, former Topekan, died Saturday in Gardenia, Calif. He moved to California six years ago. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Compton, Calif. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Wharton, Gardenia; six daughters, Mrs. W.E. Wood, Gardenia; Mrs. T.D. Williams and Mrs. E.H. Price, both of Topeka; Mrs. A.G. Roglitz, Higginsville, Mo.; Mrs. W.W. Luttjohann, San Diego, Calif.; and Mrs. V.H. Zobel, Barstow, Calif.; two sons, Albert and Harold Wharton, both of North Redondo Beach, Calif., 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
