The Topeka Daily Capital Saturday January 5, 1952 Mrs. Vernon Lewis. Mrs. Vernon LEWIS, 50, former Topekan, died Thursday at her home in Boston, Mass. She formerly made her home at 1115 Lane, moved to Boston in 1942. Her husband, Vernon Lewis, formerly was an employee of the Santa Fe freight car department. She was a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church. Besides her husband, she is survived by a son, Myril Lewis, Boston; a daughter, Mrs. Fern Houston, Pasadena, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Lene Lewis, Lawrence, and Mrs. Ethel Johnson, Topeka; three stepsisters, Mrs. Maude Harvey, and Mrs. Pearl Henrie, both of Lawrence, and Mrs. Nettie Brown, Topeka; three stepbrothers, Ottoe and John Henrie, both of Topeka, and George Henrie, Denver, Colo.; and two grandchildren.
