The Topeka Daily Capital Sunday July 30, 1961 C.H. Shrier Is Dead at 73; Rites Monday. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday for C. Herbert SHRIER, 73, formerly of 1126 Washburn. The service will be at Penwell-Gabel Chapel with burial in the Memorial Park Cemetery. He died Thursday in a Topeka hospital after a long illness. He was born in LaHarpe, Ill., May 6, 1888, and was a resident of Topeka since 1923. He was a Santa Fe Railway roadmaster and retired in 1940. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Topeka. Surviving are his daughter, Mrs. Betty HELMS of Merrian; a son, Herbert R. Shrier of Hibbing, Minn.; 10 grandchildren, four sisters, Miss Blanche Shrier and Miss Dorothy Shrier, both of Peoria, Ill. Mrs. Myrtle Schafer of Detroit, Mich., and Mrs. Mayme DENNISON of Warsaw, Ill.
