The Topeka Daily Capital Tuesday May 2, 1961 Hortense Crawford. Services will be in Topeka for Mrs. Hortense CRAWFORD, a resident here more than 50 years, who died Sunday at Tucson, Ariz. She lived a few months in Tucson. Before that she had lived a number of years at the Hotel Jayhawk. Her husband, the late George M. Crawford, was business manager of Capper Publications. He was a brother to Mrs. Arthur CAPPER and was a son of Samuel J. Crawford, who was governor of Kansas fomr 1865 to 1868. Surviving is a son, Marshall Crawford of Tucson, former general manager of Capper Printing Co.; a daughter, Mrs. Legier PAXTON of South Pasadena, Calif and three grandchildren. The Wall-Diffenderfer Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
