The Topeka Daily Capital Thursday June 15, 1939 Fred A. Bauman. Fred A. BAUMAN, 64, of 416 Taylor Street, and operator of a cutlery and sporting good store in Topeka since 1901, died Wednesday morning in a local hospital. He was born February 19, 1875, in Illinois, came to Topeka in 1879, and opened a store, orginially at 425 Kansas Avenue. For several years, the Bauman Cutlery and Sports Store has been at 816 Kansas Avenue. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lena Bauman; five children, Mrs. Dorothy COLE, Leona, Alfred, Arthur and Richard Bauman, all of Topeka; five sisters, Mrs. Louise SEILER, Oklahoma City, Okla.; Mrs. J.W. JONES, Spearman, Texas; Mrs. Helen McMULLIN, Springfield, Mo.; Miss Anna and Miss Mary Bauman, of Topeka; two brothers, Charles Bauman, Emporia and Henry Bauman, Topeka, and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be Friday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at the Wall-Diffenderfer Mortuary, with interment in Topeka Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the mortuary until the time of service.
