The Topeka Daily Capital Friday November 29, 1957 The Rev. C.G. Jones. The Rev. C. Gray JONES, 79, died Thursday evening at the Methodist Home, 1135 College, after a brief illness. Born February 2, 1878, in Cass County, Mich., he began preaching in Iowa in 1910 and came to Kansas in 1919 where he was a member of the Central Kansas Conference. Before his retirement, he served churches in many Kansas cities, including White City, Marquette, Oskaloosa, Jewell City, Clyde and Little River. He had lived in the Methodist Home since December 1947. The Rev. Mr. Jones was a graduate of Albion College at Albion, Mich. He and Mrs. Jones observed their 55th wedding anniversary September 10. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ida Simmons Jones of the Methodist Home, and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Elizabeth Jones of Topeka. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Mulvane Chapel at the Methodist Home with burial in Mount Hope Cemetery. Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home is in charge.
