    3. The Topeka Daily Capital Sunday November 20, 1927 George P. Stitt, Dead. Field Supervisor of the State Banking Department. George P. STITT, 65, field supervisor of the state banking department and assistant receiver of the Peoples State Bank, died at his home, 1009 Tyler street, early yesterday morning. Death resulted from a stroke of paralysis he suffered Tuesday night. Mr. STITT was born in El Paso, Ill., October 25, 1862. he came to Kansas in 1882 and engaged in the lumber business at Hutchinson. Later he moved to Iola where he resided until he came to Topeka 25 years ago. He was field supervisor of the Security Mutual LIfe Insurance Co. of Binghamton, N.Y. He was a member of the First Presbyterian church. He married Miss Kate HAMILTON of Ottawa in 1901. She died in 1917. He is survived by a daughter Miss Mary STITT; five brothers, Frank STITT, Byron STITT and Harry STITT, El Paso, Ill.; Oscar STITT, Chicago; and Spence STITT, Henderson, Ky.; and a sister, Mrs. Lutie KYSER, El Paso, Ill. Funeral services will be at the First Presbyterian Church at 10:30 o'clock Monday morning. His body will be taken to Ottawa for burial.
