The Topeka Daily Capital Saturday February 2, 1952 Father and Child Killed in Crash. Alfred ROMANDER, 1436 East 29th, and his two-and-one-half-year-old son, Dennis ROMANDER, were injured fatally on Thursday night in a motorcar accident near Midland on US-24. ROMANDER was driving west when his car struck a truck wheel and tire. The impact thru his car under the trailer of a truck going in the opposite direction. Thomas KEE, of Tulsa, the truck driver, escaped injury. The ROMANDERS were taken to a Lawrence hospital where the boy died shortly before midnight. ROMANDER died Friday night. ROMANDER was a traveling salesman for the American Encyclopedia. Surviving are his wife and two stepsons, Bobby MIDDAUGH, 10 and Ronnie MIDDAUGH, 7, both of the home.
