The Topeka Daily Capital Sunday November 20, 1927 Mrs. Fitzgerald Is Dead. Death Came to Topeka Woman Visiting in Wichita. Mrs. Martha White FITZGERALD, 73, old resident of Shawnee county, died Friday in Wichita, where she had been visiting a son and daughter. Mrs. FITZGERALD was born in Gurnsey county, Ohio, and came to Shawnee county with her parents in 1869. Her father, Capt. Thomas WHITE was a veteran of the Civil War. The family resided on a farm now owned by Will Enger, north of Oak grange hall. She was a member of the Women's Relief Corps, Alrich Camp No. 17, the W.C.T.U., the Shawnee County Old Settlers society, and the First Christian church of which she had been a member 23 years. She is survived by five children, Miss Florence FITZGERALD, teacher in the city schools; Mrs. Horace KENYON, and Mrs. Roy REESE, Topeka; Mrs. Lem FOWLER and Sherman FITZGERALD, WIchita; four brothers, A.J. WHITE, Topeka; John H. WHITE, Los Angeles, Calif.; Lute F. WHITE, Los Gatos, Calif.; and Judge J.W. WHITE, Winfield, Kan.; three sisters, Miss Della WHITE, Arkansas City; Mrs. Etta THOMAS, Earlville, Ill.; and Mrs. Maud BURNS, Arkansas City, and seven grandchildren. Her body will lie in state at her home, 1263 Garfield avenue today from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Funeral services will be at the First Christian church at 2:30 o'clock Monday afternoon. Burial will be in Mount Hope cemetery.
