The Topeka Daily Capital Wednesday October 3, 1951 Mrs. Birdella Berends. Mrs. Birdella BERENDS, 72, died Tuesday at her home, 309 Madison. She was born January 12, 1879, in Frankfort, Ky., and moved to Topeka from Afton, Okla., 13 years ago. She was a member of the Methodist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. W.R. Wagner, Topeka; four sons, Jack, Howard and Thoe Berends, all of Topeka, and Henry Berends, Osage City, 18 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Thurday at the Penwell-Gabel Fuenral Home with burial in Rochester Cemetery.
