    3. The Topeka Daily Capital Wednesday January 2, 1952 Shubeal C. Kersey. Shubeal C. KERSEY, 87, early-day telegrapher, died at the family home, 1262 Western, Tueaday morning following a short illness. He was born at High Point, N.C., February 2, 1864, and came to Kansas with his family at an early age, settling south of Eudora. He attended the University of Kansas and was a member of the Central Congregational Church and Masonic Lodge 225, A.F.& A.M., and of Scottish Rite. His wife, Mrs. Fannie R. KERSEY, died February 20, 1948. He worked as a telegrapher on the Santa Fe Railroad, part of the time in the general offices in Topeka. He entered the real estate and insurance business in Topeka about 1912. Survivors include his daughter, Mrs. Richard H. GARDNER, of the home; a cousin, Mrs. E.E. TRUEBLOOD, 1645 Webster, and serveral nieces and nephews. Private funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, with burial in Topeka Cemetery. The family requests no flowers be sent.
