The Topeka Daily Capital Thursday November 1, 1951 Mrs. C.E. Eldridge, Former Resident, Dies. Mrs. Charles E. ELDRIDGE, 91, long time resident of Topeka, died Tuesday night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Everett G. YOUNG in Urbana, Ill. Mrs. Eldridge was born September 17, 1860 in Chatham, Ill., and moved to Topeka with her parents when she was a child. She was married to Mr. Eldridge November 3, 1886. They would have observed their sixty-fifth wedding anniversary Saturday. Mrs. Eldridge's husband was in charge of the Kansas Inspection Bureau for many years. Later, he entered the insurance business and maintained an office at 108 West Eighth until a few years ago. They moved to Urbana three years ago to make their home with their daughter. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church for approximately 75 years. Besides her husband, she is survived by four children, Frank L. Eldridge, Glenview, Ill.; Mrs. Young of Urbana; Mrs. Fred J. PROUT, Toledo, Ohio, and Dr. Charles J. Eldridge, Kansas City, Mo.; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. The body will be returned to Topeak for burial.
