The Topeka Daily Capital Monday December 26, 1960 Challacombe Rites Pending. William CHALLACOMBE, 82, of 2513 W. 24th, died Sunday at his home. He was born Dec. 1, 1878 at Bellville, Ill., and had been a resident of Topeka since 1927. He was employed as a watchman at the Santa Fe shops and retired in 1950. His wife, Mary Ann, died in 1923. He was a member of Oakland Presbyterian Church; Masonic Lodge No. 17, AF&AM; and the Old Timer's Club of Santa Fe. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Mary Edith FOSTER, Eagle, Wis., Mrs. Florence S. BALDWIN, Lansing, Mich.; two sons, Thomas A., Lansing, Mich.; George S. of the home; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Services will be announced by Wall-Diffenderfer Mortuary.
