    3. The Topeka Daily Capital Friday August 18, 1961 Charles A. Ewings. Holton.--Charles Alvin EWINGS, Arrington farmer and carpenter, was killed Wednesday night when the tractor with which he was plowing dropped over the bank of a creek and fell on him. He was 51. Mr. Ewings had told his wife, Ruthe, he was going to plow late. She found his body about 10 p.m, after he failed to return to the house. Born at Oakley, he lived near Arrington and Holton for the past 30 years. He was a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters, Topeka Local 1445. Surviving are a brother, George, at home; a sister, Mrs. Irene ROBISON of Mayetta; and a stepson, Elbert TORSON of Wichita. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Mercer Funeral Home, with burial in Denison Cemetery.
