    3. The Topeka Daily Capital Saturday August 19, 1961 James S. JOHNSON. James Solomon JOHNSON, 76, died Firday afternoon at his home, 636 Golden. He was born in Bristol, Tenn., and lived in Topeka for 38 years. He was an employe of the Santa Fe Railroad shops and Washburn University and was a fireman-engineer at Forbes Air Force Base for 13 years until his retirement in 1957. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, where he served on the Deacon Board for several years. He was named deacon emeritus. He was a former president of the church brotherhood group. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Mary JOHNSON at home; a daughter, Miss Eunice Johnson, at home; a son, Dr. James S. Johnson, of Kansas City and three grandsons. Bowser Mortuary will announce arrangements.
