The Topeka Daily Capital Thursday July 6, 1939 Mary Baker. Mary BAKER, 79, died Wednesday at her home, 174 The Drive. She was born April 23, 1860, in Gallia County, Ohio. SHe was a member of the First Methodist Church. Her husband, John H. BAKER, died June 5, 1930. Surviving are four sons, Ira W., Home E., G. Clay BAKER, all of Topeka; and Roy H. BAKER, Leory, Kan.; one sisters, Mrs. Hannah LEWIS, Gallipolis, Ohio; six brothers, John H. THORNTON, Firman and Nelson THORNTON, all of Gallipolis, Ohio; Albert THORNTON, Ironton, Ohio; Jess and Norman THORNTON, also of Leroy; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Wall-Diffenderfer Mortuary, with interment in Topeka Cemetery.
