The Topeka Daily Capital Thursday November 10, 1927 Edward W. Neill, 83, Dies. Civil War Veteran, Settled in Shawnee County in 1861. Edward W. NEILL, 83, veteran of the Civil war and old resident of Shawnee county, died in his home, 1313 East Tenth avenue, yesterday morning. He was a member of the 11th Kansas cavalry during the Civil war. He settled in Shawnee county in 1861 and was a farmer and stockraiser until he retired 10 years ago. He leaves his wife, and a daughter, Mrs. Esther PITTKER, Clearmont, Mo., and four brothers, George and John NEILL, Topeka; James NEILL, Wakarusa, and Thomas NEILL, Quenemo. The body will lie in state in Shellabarger's chapel today. Funeral services will be in the Free Methodist church at 9:30 o'clock tomorrow morning. Burial will be in Mount Zion cemetery, near Vassar.
