The Topeka Daily Capital Thursday November 28, 1957 Mrs. Dixie Mayes. Mrs. Dixie MAYES, 64, of Silver Lake, died Tuesday night in a Topeka hospital after an illness of a week. She was born September 14, 1893, in Hopkins County, Ky., and had lived in Silver Lake community 30 years. She was a member of the Baptist Church at Madisonville, Ky. She is survived by her husband, Carl Mayes, of the home; four daughters, Mrs. Wayne TRINKLE, and Mrs. Glen MILLER, both of Silver Lake; Mrs. Louise JOHNSON, Denver, Colo., and Mrs. Rosie HAWKINS, Lawndale, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. C.C. STARK, Madisonville, Ky.; a brother, W.B. COFFMAN, Madisonville, Ky.; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday at the Silver Lake Methodist Church with burial in Silver Lake Cemetery. Parker Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
