    3. The Topeka Daily Capital Sunday March 31, 1968 Sgt. Joe Hughes. Oskaloosa.--Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Methodist Church here for Sgt. Joe HUGHES, 31, Jacksonville, N.C., formerly of Oskaloosa, who died Wednesday in a Camp LeJeune, N.C., hospital where he was admitted March 23 after he was injured in a car accident. He was born Dec. 13, 1936 at Sweetwater, Tex., and spent his early life at Amarillo, Tex. He lived at Oskaloosa until 1966. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, having served in the Marines from 1955 to 1959. He rejoined the Marines in 1966 and spent a year in Vietnam. He was attached to the Second Marine Division at Camp LeJeune, N.C. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Edna Hughes, at home; four daughters, Patsy Huges and JoDawn Hughes, at home; a son, David Joe Hughes, at home; his mother, Mrs. Essie Hughes, Lubbock, Tex.; two sisters, Mrs. Jessie BELL, Lubbock, Tex., and Mrs. Mildred PIETSCH, Roscoe, Tex.; and a brother, Sammie Hughes, Dallas, Tex. Burial will be in National Cemetery at Fort Leavenworth. Hampton Funeral Home at Oskaloosa is in charge of arrangements.
