The Topeka Daily Capital Friday January 14, 1966 Mary Letuks Dies at 82; Rites Saturday. Mrs. Mary A. LETUKS, 2316 Hazelton Court, died Thursday night in a Topeka hospital. She was 82. Born Oct. 10, 1883, in Manchester, England, she came to the United States and Topeka in 1909. Mrs. Letuks was a member of the Holy Name Catholic Church, Holy Name Guild, Catholic Activity Club, Legion of Mary, and Contract Club. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Ursula M. RITTS, Dallas, Tex., Mrs. Rose A. IVES, Chalet Apartments, and Miss Amelia Letuks, of the home; two granddaughters and nine great-grandchildren. Services will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at Holy Name Church with burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery. She will lie in state at Brennan Funeral Home from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. Friday. Office of the Dead will be recited by the parish at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Mrs. Viola RODERICK, 96, 1823 W. 2nd, died Tuesday at a Topeka hospital where she had been a patient since Dec. 13 when she injured her right should in a fall. She was born July 18, 1869 at Kickapoo near Horton in Brown County and spent most of her life in the Topeka community. She was married to William H. Roderick of Valley Falls, Oct. 19, 1890. He died in 1951. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, an adopted daughter and two sons. Survivors include four sons, Roy C. Roderick, 2106 E. 6th, Joe L. Roderick, 738 Carnahan, Earl R. Roderick, Meriden, and Albert Roderick, Albert Roderick, at home; eight grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. The Topeka Daily Capital Wednesday January 12, 1966 Edwin Kelley. Edwin L. KELLEY, 36, Route 1, Richland, died of a bullet would in his head Tuesday at a Topeka hospital. Dr. J.L. Lattimore, district coroner, said later Tuesday the shotgun bullet apparently was self-inflicted while Kelley was sitting in his car at a parking area near the northwest shore of Lake Shawnee. Dr. Lattimore said an autopsy will be performed today. Kelley died abotu two hours after he was admitted to a hospital. Edwin Kelley was born Oct. 22, 1929 in Topeka. He was a farmer. Survivors include a son, Mark Lee Kelley, and a daughter, Gloria Jean Kelley, both of 941 Sunset Lane; and his mother, Mrs. Floyd McGINNIS, at home. Parker Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

He lived at Goddland and later at Denver, Colo., before moving to Topeka. He was a conductor for Rock Island Railroad and retired in March 1957 after 55 years service with the company. He was a member of the Elks Lodge, Masonic Lodge and Scottish Rite bodies, all at Goodland. STREETER, 58, was dead on arrival at a Topeka hospital Monday after becoming ill at her home, 169 Evelyn. An autospy is scheduled today to determine cause of death. She was born Oct. 3, 1907 at Rossville. She lived at Willard before moving to Topeka 12 years ago. She was a member of the Southern Baptist Church. She was born April 12, 1903. She lived at Concordia before moving to Topeka about 23 years ago. She attended the University of Kansas and was a secretary for the Board of Education at Concordia several years. She formerly worked as an entertainer on a home talent show for a Chicago radio station. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church at Concordia and was a charter member of the Topeka chapter of American Business Women. She was a former member of the Pilot Club of Topeka and the Topeka Business and Professional Women's Club. She had been active in the Kansas Repubican Club. She was employed by the Kansas State Moter Vehicle Department. Earlier she worked in the office of the state treasurer. Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Marie McELHANEY, 28, who died Saturday at her home, 1527 N. Madison. Dr. J.L.Lattimore, district coroner, who performed an autopsy, said Mrs. McElhaney had suffered from an injury in an accident while playing baseball when she was 12 years old. He said she died of asphyxia shortly after she became ill before dawn Saturday. She was born March 29, 1937 at Valley Falls and had lived in Topeka 25 years. She attended North Topeka Baptist Church. Earlier he lived at 823 W. 10th. He was born April 5, 1877 in Topeka and spent most of his life in Topeka. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. He was associated with W.A.L. Thompson Hardware Company in Topeka and later was instrumental in founding Bowen-Nuss Hardware Company in Topeka. He retired in 1938. His wife, Mrs. Helen Walker Bowen, died in 1937. Two sons also preceded him in death. Survivors include three sons, Dr. Harry J. Bowen, Jr., 1900 Pembroke Lane, Dr. Clovis W. He was born Dec. 17, 1883 at Parkersburg, Iowa. He was employed as a wholesale lumber salesman before he retired. He spent summers for nine years at Black Hills, S.D., where he took a character role in the annual play, "The Killing of Wild Bill Hickok." He was a member of Whitfield Methodist Church at Sioux City, Iowa. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. D.E. BRICE, Hollister, Calif.; and Connie Jean FREDRICKS, of the home; three sons, E. He was a representative of State Farm Mutual Insurance Company in Topeka since 1952. He was born Oct. 28, 1916 at Cincinnati, Ohio. He was a member of First Methodist Church where he was active in work with youth. He was a past district governor of the Y's Men's Club of the YMCA. He was graduated from Alma College at Alma, Mich., in 1938 and was employed by the communications department at Forbes Air Force Base. He was a member of the National Life Underwriters Assn. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ruth L. Smith, of the home; two sons, Alan Smith and David Eugene Smith, both of the home; a daughter, Elizabeth Ann Smith, of the home; and two sisters, Mrs. Harry GALVIN, Newport Beach, Calif., and Mrs. Elizabeth KELLER, Wayne, Mich.
