Herbert Teft BAKER, 78, was dead on arrival at a Topeka hospital Tuesday after becoming ill as his home, 136 N. Quinton. Dr. J.L. Lattimore, district coroner said Tuesday night he will perform an autopsy today to determine cause of death. Mr. Baker was born Jan. 26, 1887, at Pauline and spent most of his life in Topeka except for 15 years when he lived at Meriden. He worked at the Topeka Supply Depot and later was a tree surgeon until he retired. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Edith Bell Baker, at home; two sons, Harold T. Baker, Nampa, Idaho, and Lawrence O. Baker, 1643 Western; five daughters, Mrs. Howard CHACEY, Shawnee-Mission, Mrs. Harold C. RIDDLE, 1043 Forest, Mrs. Charles E. BRUCE, 814 E. 34th., Mrs. Donald R. DeWITT, 616 E. 34th., and Mrs. Charles THORP, 739 Garfield; two sisters, Mrs. Cora TAYLOR, 227 Clay, and Mrs. Edna ARNOLD, 2419 W. 22nd.; 20 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Lutheran Church at WaKeeney and was a 55 year member of Margaret Chapter of Order of Eastern Star at Wakeeney. Her husband, Adolph G. Schwanbeck, died Jan. 24, 1938. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Myrtle ROGERS, Quenemo; a grandson and three great grandchildren. Later services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Lutheran Church at WaKeeney. Burial will be in Collyer Cemetery in Trego County.

Charles Wesley WRIGHT, Sr., 75, formerly of Topeka, died Saturday at his home at Perry following a heart attack. He was born August 4, 1890 at Perry. He grew up in Topeka and attended Topeka High School and Strickler Business School. He was chief clerk of the passenger traffic department of Santa Fe Railway before he retired in 1957 after 50 years of service with the railway. He lived at 2205 High in Topeka before returning to Perry in 1945. He was a member of the Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge No. 415, AF&AM, and Ramona Chapter No. 431, Order of Eastern Star, all at Perry. He was a past president of the Kansas State Beekeepers Assn., and was a member of the Santa Fe Old Timers Club. He was active in Boy Scout work in the Topeka area. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mary K. Wright, of the home; a son, Mayor Charles W.
