Jim, Thanks for the offer, but I will find the information. I am not 100% sure of the death date. You can contact the Topeka Genealogical Society for a look-up, if you wish it fairly soon. website: http://www.tgstopeka.org e-mail address: library@tgstopeka.org They ask for a donation but I don't remember how much. If you wish to look for yourself by using the interlibrary loan system from the Kansas State Historical Society, in Topeka, the microfilm rolls you will be interested in are The Topeka Daily Capital, 9/1/1947 to 9/30/1947, Roll T-508 and The Topeka State Journal, 9/1/1947/ to 9/30/1947, Roll T-1658. Website is: www.kshs.org Or if you want me to do it then it is going to be awhile before I can get it done. At least two months and probably closer to 3. I don't live in Topeka, and use the interlibrary loan service with KSHS. Have a good one!! Jim. It is always a good idea to check the archives, if you haven't already for surnames of interest, for the Shawnee County mailist for several years as I have been this for some time. Jim Laird orders microfilm from the Kansas State Historical Society and transcribes the obits which are such a great treasure to this mailing list. The KSHS participates in interlibrary loan so if your local library participates, you can order newspapers from the time frame in question and check for obits. You can even post what you find to this list, as Jim Laird does, to help others in their research. The link to check for dates and newspapers available is: http://www.kshs.org/library/news.htm Best of luck with your search! Susie JGuppy7812@aol.com wrote: I was afraid of that. Ok, Thanks. Do you think the Church in which she belonged would have any type of record. I know her son - Henry Valentine Sage belonged to Dover Methodist Episcopal Church when he died. I wonder what kind of records they would have if any. Jim **************The year's hottest artists on the red carpet at the Grammy Awards. Go to AOL Music. I have had really good luck with some of the funeral homes in Topeka, that were able to provide me with funeral sheets from about that time. If you can find an obit in the newspaper - it will usually tell you which one was in charge. The funeral sheets were very helpful and very interesting. In addition - If memory serves me correct - you could look at the Historical Society on microfilm. Good luck! Pam
