The Topeka Daily Capital Monday January 8, 1951 William H. Stubbings. William Henry STUBBINGS, 83, former mayor of Scranton, died Sunday morning at his home, in Scranton. Mr. Stubbings was born February 1, 1867, at Blaenavon, England, and came to the United States with his parents when he was four years old and settled at Camden, Mo. He had made his home in Scranton since February, 1882. For years, he was financial secretary of the United Mine Workers local in that community. he also served as mayor, councilman, and street commissioner of Scranton over a period of years. He was a member of the Methodist Church and the Scranton Masonic Lodge. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Anne STUBBINGS fo the home; a daughter, Mrs. Virginia McALLISTER, Tulsa, Okla.; a son, S.Harris STUBBINGS, Topeka; a sister, Mrs. Nellie JACKSON, Centerville, Iowa; three grandchildren, Mrs. June SHELDON, Mrs. Audrey DIAL, and H. Kent STUBBINGS, all of Topeka, and two great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Scranton Methodist Church. The Scranton Masonic Lodge will conduct the graveside services.
The Topeka Daily Capital Monday January 8, 1951 Mrs. Alice I. Henley. Mrs. Alice I. HENLEY, 48, wife of J.E. HENLEY, died Sunday at her home, 1129 Quincy. She was born May 13, 1902 in Finney County, Kansas, and lived in Dodge City and Garden City before moving to Topeka in 1945. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Garden City. Besides her two husband, she is survived by two sons, J.W. HENLEY and Stephen Dwight HENLEY, both of the home; four daughters, Greta Glee, Alice Ann, and Lois Elaine HENLEY, all of the home; and Mrs. Barbara HECHT, Topeka; two brothers, Fred GRIFFIN, Garden City, and Wayne GRIFFIN, Alhambra, Calif.; four sisters, Miss Clara GIRFFIN, Dodge City, Mrs. Ralph COEN, Garden City, Mrs. George ROBERTS, Cimmarron and Mrs. Fred JOHNSON and several grandchildren.

She was born October 18, 1870, in Silver Lake and spent most of her life in the Elmont community. She was a member of the Elmont Methodist Chruch. She is survived by two sons, G.R. NEISWENDER, San Diego, Calif., and Wilbert NEISWENDER, Elmont; a stepdaughter, Mrs. John GILMORE, Hoyt; two stepsons, Cecil WOODARD, Hoyt, and Harold WOODARD, Topeka, and two grandchildren.

Mrs. Judith Elizabeth WILSON, 79, of 113 East 20th, died Sunday morning at the ome of her daughter, Mrs. Ruth JOHNSON in Kansas City, Mo. She was born May 5, 1871, in Verdery, S. C., and had been a resident of Topeka 63 years. She was a member of the Brown's Chapel, AME Chruch. She is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Josephine OLIVER, Chicago, Ill., Mrs. Jessie JACKSON, Topeka; Mrs. Elizabeth WILSON, Mrs. Juanita HARRIS and Mrs. JOHNSON, all of Kansas City, Mo.; three sons, Clifford, Harrison and Frank WILSON, all of Kansas City, Mo.; and a brother, J.D. CHILES, Verdery, S.C. The body will be brought to Topeka for burial.

She was born November 1, 1885, in Albany, Mo., and moved to Topeka 20 years ago. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church. She is survived by her husband, Clinton HAMMOND, of the home; four daughters, Mrs. Nellie SMITHSON, Glendale, Calif.; Mrs. Bertha WOOTEN, Marysville, Calif.; Mrs. Margaret COFFMAN and Mrs. Doris COFFMAN, both of Topeka; a son, Thomas HARROWER, Binghamton, N.Y.; a brother, Ralph GISH, Topeka; two sisters, Mrs. Alma WANISKA, Topeka, and Mrs. Della BRADDFIELD, North Hollywood, Calif.; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Joy ANDERSON, Topeka, 25 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Interment will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Norton.

She was a former member of the Mount Olive Methodist Church. Topeka relatives include a foster daughter, Mrs. Lorene BROWN; a brother, Robert "Del" CLARK, Topeka; and a niece, Miss Mayetta CLARK. Funeral services and interment will be Tuesday in Kansas City.

TITUS, Kansas City, Mo., where he had made his home for the past eight years. He was born in Pommern, Germany, and came to the United States in 1882. He formerly was a livestock dealer in Topeka. he was a member of Orient Lodge No. 51, A.F. & A.M., the 32nd degree Scottish Rite, and the Media Grotto of Topeka. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Mary E. NAYLOR and Mrs. Sophie VOGEL, both of Topeka, and Mrs. TITUS of Kansas City, Mo.; two sons, William C.A. LIETZOW, Jr., and John LEITZOW, both of Topeka, six grandchildren adn six great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Memorial Park Cemetery.

He was born in Marshall, Mo., and was graduated from the Macon, Mo., Baptist College, the George R. Smith College of Sedalia, Mo., and the Washburn Law School. He was admitted to the bar after his graduation from Washburn in 1923. He practiced law for two years in Indiana and since 1927 had been practicing in Oklahoma. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Aileen Moffitte JUDIE, Milwaukee, Wis.; a sister, Mrs. Maggie RAMSEY, Kansas City, Mo.; a brother, Thomas MOFFITTE, Sedalia, Mo.; and a half-brother, Sam TAYLOR, Marshall, Mo. Funeral services will be Thursday at Muskogee.

A veteran of World War I, he had been in a hospital for several years. He was born in Topeka and lived her during his early life. He was a member of the Orient Lodge No. 51., A.F. and A. M. of Topeka. Survivors are: His mother, Mrs. A. BURKLUND; two daughters, Mrs. Dwight RALSTON and MRs. Beulah MAYER; a sister, Mrs. George D. VILLEE, all of Topeka; a brother, Gilbert BURKLUND of Kansas City, Mo.; a sister, Mrs. C.C. BOYD fo Kansas City, Mo., and six grandchildren. Services and burial will be in Seattle.
The Topeka Daily Capital Tuesday January 25, 1916 Word has been received in Topeka of the death of Gilbert Leslie PERIN, the 9-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. H.C. PERIN, who died Saturday in a Cedar Rapids, Ia., hospital following an attack of typhoid and pneumonia. The body will be brought to Wamego, kan., where the funeral will be held Wednesday.

HOOD, one of the early settlers of Kansas, died early yesterday morning at the home of her nephew, Dr. William GARRETT, 625 Garfield avenue. She was well known here as a nurse and was a member of the Episcopal church for many years. She is survived by a sister, Mrs. John McCOMB, of this city. The body will lie in state from 10 o'clock this morning until noon at residence of her nephew. The funeral will be held this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the Grace cathedral. Burial will be in Topeka cemetery.

He was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America and the United Commerical Travelers. The body will arrive in Topeka Wednesday morning and will be taken to Penwell's undertaking parlors.
