The Topeka Daily Capital Saturday November 19, 1927 Real Pioneer Is Dead; In Shawnee Since 1852. Thomas Marple, 89, Came Here at Age of 14. Veteran of Battle of the Blue and Farmer in This Community for Many Years. Thomas MARPLE, 89, one of Shawnee county's earliest pioneers, died last night. Mr. MARPLE was born in Indiana in 1838. At the age of 14, he came to Kansas where his father homesteaded a farm north of Topeka which now is the Shawnee county farm. The son resided there until the county purchased it. He since had made his home on farms in the Rochester district, near Silver Lake and Elmont. He was a member of the Kansas militia during Price's raid and took part in the Battle of the Blue. He is survived by a son, M.J. MARPLE, North Topeka, and a daughter, Mrs. William WOODWARD, Elmont. Funeral services will be at Shellabarger's chapel at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon. His body will lie in state at the chapel. Burial will be in Rochester cemetery.

GODLOVE of Topeka, and three grandchildren. Funeral services will be Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the Penwell chapel. Burial will be in Topeka cemetery. The body will lie in state at Penwell's until time for the services.

John Frank BLAIR, a Topeka real estate dealer, died last night at his home, 222 Clay street. Mr. BLAIR was born in Netawaka, Kan., in 1874, and came to Topeka 28 years ago. He is survived by three sisters and three brothers, Mrs. L.M. SHULSKY of Colorado Springs, Colo., W. J. BLAIR of Netawaka; Ellen BLAIR, W.S. BLAIR and A.E. BLAIR, all of Topeka, and Mrs. Dollie HARRIOR of Bellville, Kan., and by two nieces and two nephews. Funeral arrangements will be made later.

JEFFERS, former Topekan, died Tuesday in Oklahoma City, Okla., according to word received yesterday by her brother-in-law, J.M. JEFFERS, 824 Jefferson street. Mrs. JEFFERS and her husband were residents of North Topeka for years. The husband operated a wall paper store on North Kansas avenue and afterward was a traveling salesman for McEntire Brothers mattress factory. The family left Topeka about 15 years ago. Besides her husband, Mrs. JEFFERS is survived by two daughters, Mrs. W.M. BAMBER, St. Louis; and Miss Elena JEFFERS, Oklahoma City; a son, J.B. JEFFERS, Oklahoma City; and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be in Oklahoma City, Friday afternoon.

Carl Luther REGANI, aged 2 years and 7 months, the son of Mrs. Jeannette Root REGANI and grandson of L.H. ROOT, 20th and Hancock, died at the home of his grandparents at 11 o'clock Tuesday night. Death was due to a complication of diseases and after an illness of more than two months. Funeral arrangements will be made later.

He is survived by his wife, three stepchildren, Edna, Stella and Woodrow HILL; his parents Mr. and Mrs. George WILLIAMS, Salina; and five sisters, Mrs. Frances HITE and Miss Mattie WILLIAMS, Topeka; Mrs. Lulu JENNINGS, Miss Lois WILLIAMS, and Miss Helen WILLIAMS, Salina. Funeral services will be at Stone street chapel at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon. Burial will be in Mount Auburn cemetery.

The Topeka Daily Capital Monday July 10, 1939 Nathan D. Jagars. Nathan D. JAGARS, 82, died Sunday at the home of his brother, J.R. JAGARS, 501 Freeman Avenue. He was born September 14, 1857, in Hawsville, Ky. In 1881 he moved to Kansas City, Mo., where he owned and operated the Jagars Fish Market for forty-seven years. For the past two years he has been making his home with his brother. Surviving are one sister, Mrs. W.R. DUNHAM, Topeka; three brothers, D.C. JAGARS, Long Beach, Calif.; R.K. JAGARS, Kansas City, Mo., and J.R. JAGARS, Topeka. The body is lying in state at Penwell's Funeral Home pending funeral arrangements. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

He was born February 13, 1858, in Hartford, Conn., came to Topeka with his parents at the age of nine and had been a resident here since that time. He operated a printing shop at 620 Kansas for forty years, retiring twelve years ago. Evarts was a member of the First Congregational Church, Blue Lodge No. 17, A.F.& A.M., Scottish Rite and Beulah Chapter No. 34, O.E.S. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mary J. EVARTS of the home; one daughter, Miss Hattie Belle EVARTS, also of the home, and one sister, Mrs. L.O. MAXWELL, Gove, Kan. Funeral services will be Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Wall-Diffenderfer Mortuary with interment in Topeka Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Grace ANDERSON of the home; one daughter, Mrs. George HAYDON, Topeka; two sons, Chester ANDEROSN of the home, and Eugene ANDERSON of Kansas City, Mo.; four sisters, Mrs. Samuel BURNS, Topeka; Mrs. Emma RAMSAY, Osage City; Mrs. Carl WALSTROM, Osage City, and Mrs. Ida DOW, Osawatomie; two brothers, John and Fred ANDERSON, both of Topeka, and two grandchildren.
