    3. The Topeka Daily Capital Monday June 5, 1939 Mrs. Jessie Dynmond. Mrs. Jessie DYNMOND, 76, died Sunday at her home in Carbondale. She was born in Evansville, Ind., and came to Kansas with her parents, settling in Ridgeway Township when three years old. She had been a resident of Osage County for the past seventy-three years. Mrs. Dynmond is survived by her husband, William Dynmond, of the home; two sons, Russell DYNMOND, Long Beach, Calif., and Charles H. DYNMOND, Norman, Okla. The body is lying in state at the Lee Funeral Home in Carbondale pending funeral arrangements.

    3. The Perry Mirror Thursday October 26, 1922 Chicken Shower. When the people of Oak Grove neighborhood heard that somebody had stolen the chickens belonging to Mrs. Amanda ZOOK, a widow who lives north of Perry, they planned a "chicken shower". The result was 44 nice plump pullets. While the number given did not reimburse the loss, the spirit back of the act was indeed commendable.

Miss Libbie BURBANK, pioneer Leavenworth school teacher and a sister of Rufus BURBANK of Topeka, died in Pueblo, Colo., Sunday morning. Miss BURBANK was a teacher in the Leavenworth schools almost 50 years. She recently went to Pueblo, Colo., to be with her sister, Mrs. Addie BRYANT. Mr. and Mrs. BURBANK have gone to Pueblo to attend the funeral.

    3. The Topeka Daily Capital Tuesday November 22, 1927 Rev. W.I. Cole Is Dead. Topeka Pastor Had Been in the Ministry 42 Years. The Rev. W.I. COLE, 68, former pastor of the Seward Avenue Baptist church, died yesterday at his home 1240 Washburn avenue, after a long illness. He resigned as pastor of that church last January on account of his health. The Rev. Mr. COLE was born in Madison county, Fla., May 19, 1850. During his early education he prepared himself to become a lawyer, but after being admitted to the bar and practicing law in Florida for some time, he decided to enter the ministry. After being graduated from the William-Jewell college at Liberty, Mo., he was graduated from the Lousiville Theological seminary at Louisville, Ky. He was in the ministry 42 years. He was pastor of the North Topeka Baptist church four years, at Quinton Heights four years and at Seward Avenue six and one-half years. he also held pastorates at St. Joseph, Lexington and Excelsior Springs in Missouri and Sabetha, Kan. He was a member of the Masonic lodge and Scottish Rite bodies. He is survived by his wife, two sons, Walter I. COLE, Jr., of Sabetha, and Albert M. COLE, Holton; a daughter, Mrs. Paul B. Van Ness, Topeka, and two grandchildren, Marcia COLE, Sabetha; and Betty Jan Van Ness, Topeka. Funeral services will be at the North Topeka Baptist church at 2:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon. Burial will be in Memorial Park cemetery.

    3. The Topeka Daily Capital Tuesday November 22, 1927 Aged Veteran Is Dead. Capt. Harmon Wentworth in Business Here Many Years. Capt. Harmon E. WENTWORTH, 83, formerly of the firm of Falkiner and Wentworth Insurance, died yesterday at 716 West Twelfth street where he was rooming. Captain WENTWORTH was a Civil War veteran. He had made his home in Topeka for close to 40 years, retiring from business about 10 years ago and going to the Soldiers' home in Leavenworth. He returned to Topeka only recently. "Captain Wentworth made a great record as a soldier." said Captain P.H. CONEY, an old friend. He served for two years with Company H, 37th Infantry of New York, later re-enlisting in Company M, 14th New York heavy artillery. He took part in a number of major engagements including Bull Run and Manassas, Antietam, Fredricksburg and the Seven Pines. Captain Wentworth had been a member of Lincoln Post for more than 40 years. He was unmarried and leaves no close relatives. Funeral arrangements have not been completed.

Surviving her are five daughters, Mrs. George HILL of Canadian, Tex.; Mrs. George GRAYBILL of Alta Vista; Miss Iva YOUNG, Miss Bessie YOUNG and Miss Marjory YOUNG all of Scranton; two sons, Roscoe and Floyd YOUNG of Scranton; one sister, Mrs. Ed JOHN of Eskridge, and a brother, Sam BOSTION of Langley.

SCHMIDT, 43, of 216 Taylor street, died in the Santa Fe hospital yesterday morning. He was born in Topeka and spent his entire life here. He was an employe of the Santa Fe Railroad Co. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Bertha SCHMIDT; three children, Leo, William and Virginia SCHMIDT, all of Topeka; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles SCHMIDT, Topeka; four brothers, John SCHMIDT, Moberly, Mo.; Charles SCHMIDT, Alma; Herman SCHMIDT, Horton; and Joseph SCHMIDT, Detroit, Mich., and a sister, Mrs. F.B. HARRIS, Topeka. Funeral services will be at the Holy Name church at 9 o'clock Tuesday morning. Burial will be Mount Calvary cemetery. His body will repose at the Schmidt home from 2 o'clock this afternoon until Tuesday morning.

Mrs. Martha White FITZGERALD, 73, old resident of Shawnee county, died Friday in Wichita, where she had been visiting a son and daughter. Mrs. FITZGERALD was born in Gurnsey county, Ohio, and came to Shawnee county with her parents in 1869. Her father, Capt. Thomas WHITE was a veteran of the Civil War. The family resided on a farm now owned by Will Enger, north of Oak grange hall. She was a member of the Women's Relief Corps, Alrich Camp No. 17, the W.C.T.U., the Shawnee County Old Settlers society, and the First Christian church of which she had been a member 23 years. She is survived by five children, Miss Florence FITZGERALD, teacher in the city schools; Mrs. Horace KENYON, and Mrs. Roy REESE, Topeka; Mrs. Lem FOWLER and Sherman FITZGERALD, WIchita; four brothers, A.J. WHITE, Topeka; John H. WHITE, Los Angeles, Calif.; Lute F. WHITE, Los Gatos, Calif.; and Judge J.W. WHITE, Winfield, Kan.; three sisters, Miss Della WHITE, Arkansas City; Mrs. Etta THOMAS, Earlville, Ill.; and Mrs. Maud BURNS, Arkansas City, and seven grandchildren. Her body will lie in state at her home, 1263 Garfield avenue today from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Funeral services will be at the First Christian church at 2:30 o'clock Monday afternoon. Burial will be in Mount Hope cemetery.

    3. The Topeka Daily Capital Sunday November 20, 1927 Shock of Fall Is Fatal. Mrs. Maria Dunn Knox, 88, Died in Atchison Last Night. Mrs. Maria Dunn KNOX, former Topekan, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E.E. HINSHAW, in Atchison, at 6 o'clock last night. Death resulted from the shock of a fall downstairs Thursday night. She was a resident of Topeka for more than 30 years but for the past nine years had made her home with her daughter in Atchison. She was a member of the Christian church. Besides her daughter, she is survived by two sons, H.G. KNOX, 204 Watie street, and Harry KNOX, Almosa, Colo. Her body will be brought to Topeka for burial. Funeral services will be at the West Side Christian church as 2 o'clock Monday afternoon.

    3. The Topeka Daily Capital Sunday November 20, 1927 George P. Stitt, Dead. Field Supervisor of the State Banking Department. George P. STITT, 65, field supervisor of the state banking department and assistant receiver of the Peoples State Bank, died at his home, 1009 Tyler street, early yesterday morning. Death resulted from a stroke of paralysis he suffered Tuesday night. Mr. STITT was born in El Paso, Ill., October 25, 1862. he came to Kansas in 1882 and engaged in the lumber business at Hutchinson. Later he moved to Iola where he resided until he came to Topeka 25 years ago. He was field supervisor of the Security Mutual LIfe Insurance Co. of Binghamton, N.Y. He was a member of the First Presbyterian church. He married Miss Kate HAMILTON of Ottawa in 1901. She died in 1917. He is survived by a daughter Miss Mary STITT; five brothers, Frank STITT, Byron STITT and Harry STITT, El Paso, Ill.; Oscar STITT, Chicago; and Spence STITT, Henderson, Ky.; and a sister, Mrs. Lutie KYSER, El Paso, Ill. Funeral services will be at the First Presbyterian Church at 10:30 o'clock Monday morning. His body will be taken to Ottawa for burial.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. today at the Burlieuw-Cowan Funeral Home in Manhattan with burial in Sunset Cemetery, Manhattan.
