Mrs. Eva Morley MURPHY, 94, widow of the late Eugene Franklin Murphy, former prominent Northwestern Kansas attorney, died Tuesday at the Ingleside Home. She moved to Topeka in 1928. She had been at the Ingleside Home since 1943. A daughter, Mrs. Robert S. Thompson, of Fredonia, N.Y., survives. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Wall-Diffenderfer Mortuary with burial in Goodland, Kan.

    3. The Topeka Daily Capital Wednesday October 3, 1951 Dale D. Miller. Dale D. MILLER, 66, Topeka druggist, died unexpectedly Monday in Hot Springs, Ark., from a heart attack. He was born December 16, 1884, in Jewell City, Kan., and had lived in Topeka since 1895. He attended Topeka schools and was graduated from Kansas University in 1903. After completing his education, he became associated with his father, the late W.S. Miller, in Miller's Drug Store at Sixth and Topeka. After his father's death in 1923, he continued to operate the store until his death. It was the oldest drug store in Topeka under the same management. he was a member of the First Methodist Church, Siloam Lodge No. 225, A.F. & A.M., and the Socttish Rite bodies. He was married in 1940 to Miss Josephine Miller. Besides his wife, he is survived by his mother, Mrs. W.S. Miller, Topeka; a brother, Frank E. Miller, Topeka lawyer, and a sister, Mrs. Nate Knittle, El Paso, Texas.

Wagner, Topeka; four sons, Jack, Howard and Thoe Berends, all of Topeka, and Henry Berends, Osage City, 18 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Thurday at the Penwell-Gabel Fuenral Home with burial in Rochester Cemetery.

    3. The Topeka Daily Capital Wednesday October 3, 1951 Jacob Knapp. Jacob (Jake) KNAPP, 74, of Holton, died Tuesday at his home after a long illness. He was born in Dagersiacht, Wurtonburg, Germany, on August 8, 1877. He was married May 6, 1903, to Sophia Schirmer, who survives. He is also survived by three daughters, Mrs. A.J. Faust, Miss Dorothy Knapp and Miss Marjorie Knapp; and two grandchildren, Arland and Gerald Faust. The grandsons had lived with Mr. Knapp. Their parents are missionaries in Africa. Mr. Knapp came to the United States when he was seven years old and had lived in Holton for 30 years. He was a retired farmer and had worked on state highways for six years. He was a member of the Evangelical United Brethren Church and was a charter member of the Men's Bible Class. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Holton EUB Chruch. Burial will be in Holton Cemetery. His body will lie in state at Padden Funeral Home.

He was a veteran of the Spanish-American War. He was born May 2, 1875, in Canton, Ky., and spent most of his life in Osage City. He operated a hot tamale stand at 10th and Topeka at one time. He is survived by a son, Earl E. Whalen, Topeka; a sisters, Mrs. Frances Reich, Argentine, Kan.; three brothers, Denny, Thomas, and Robert Whalen, Osage City and a stepbrother, Charles Link, Argentine. The funeral will be at 9 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick's Church in Osage City with burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery.

She was a member of the Perry Methodist Church. She is survived by a niece, Mrs. Helen Wise of Topeka; a nephew Frank Hart, of the home, and cousin, Walter Brown of perry. A sister, Mrs. Jessie Hart, of Topeka, died June 6, 1949.

Interment will be in Glendale.

    3. The Topeka Daily Capital Wednesday January 10, 1951 John R. Johnson. John R. JOHNSON, 75, pioneer Topeka motorcar dealer, died Tuesday morning at his home, 618 Buchanan. Mr. Johnson was born April 13, 1875, in Kirkville, Iowa, and had been a resident of Topeka 65 years. He started his career in the motorcar industry as a foreman in the SMith Automobile Factory in Topeka, manufacturer of the Great Smith car. In 1914 he started his own business as dealer for the Oakland and Hudson cars and remained in the business until he retired in October 1945. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Topeka Lodge, No. 17, A.F.& A.M., Topeka Commandery No. 5, Knights Templar and the Arab Shrine. He is survived by a son, Thomas R. JOHNSON of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Allen Rausch, San Diego, Calif. and four grandchildren. Funeral arrangements have not been completed. Interment will be in Topeka Cemetery.

Mrs. Alderfer's husband operated a grocery store at 10th and Mulvane for many years nd she operated it for several years after his death. Mrs. Alderfer was an active member of the First Christian Church while in Topeka and was active in state missionary work. She was president of the Council of Church Women of Topeka at one time. She had made her home in Lebanon, Ore., for the past two and one-half years. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Leo Quackenbush, of Lebanon, Ore., and Mrs. Robert Worthington, of Seattle, Wash.; three grandchildren, Carol and Brian Quackenbush, and Alan Worthington; and a sister, Mrs. W.B. Steward, of Los Angeles, Calif. Funeral services and interment were Monday at Lebanon.
