Mrs. Irvin TROWBRIDGE, 86, died tuesday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Zelma LATHAN, in Kansas City, Mo., according to word received in Topeka. Besides her daughter, she is survived by one granddaughter, Virgina LATHAM; two sisters, Mrs. W.H. BROWN and Mrs. J.L. CALIHAN, both of Topeka. Graveside services will be held at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock.

He was born in Jefferson County and had been a resident of Topeka for the past thirty-five years. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Almedia BARNES of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Levia McCAIN; four sons, Harry, Robert Jr., John and Lloyd BARNES; thre sisters, Mrs. C.F. BURGEN, Mrs. Lloyd PRICE and Mrs. Walter PIERCE; two brothers, William BARNES and Frank BARNES, all of Topeka, and one grandchild. The body was taken to the Sanders-McMichael Funeral Home pending funeral arrangements.
The Topeka Daily Capital Wednesday June 14, 1939 Joseph Raine. Joseph RAINE, 75, died Tuesday at his home in Maplehill. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, came to Kansas with his parents at the age of six, and settled on a farm at Wells Creek. Later they moved to Maplehill where he spent the rest of his life. Mr. and Mrs. RAINE celebrated their golden anniversary three years ago. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Addie RAINE of the home; three sons, Lee, Lester and Francis RAINE; two daughters, Mrs. Jessie ARNOLD, all of Maplehill and Mrs. Annee SANDER of Alma; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Stone Church in Maplehill. The body will lie in state at the home until the funeral hour.

KIRBY, 83, or Rossville, who died Tuesday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Walter McCLEERY, in Rossville, will be Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Peebler's Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Rossville Cemetery. Mrs. KIRBY was born October 2, 1856, in Ohio, came to Holton, Kan., in 1885, where she lived until 1912, when she moved to Rossville. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church. Surviving are four children, Mrs. Ed PATTERSON of Mayetta; Mrs. R.G. HULL, Montana; Robert KIRBY and Mrs. McCLEERY of Rossville; fifteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was born February 23, 1866, in South Bend, Ind., and came to Kansas with her parents at the age of two, settling at Auburn. She married William A. HOY in May, 1881, and was a member of the Auburn Methodist Church. Besides her husband she is survived by five children, Mrs. Edith TAYLOR of the home; Jesse HOY, Wakarusa; Mrs. Sadie TAYLOR, Albuquerque, N.M.; Mrs. Addie HITZ, and George HOY, also of the home; twelve grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one sister of the home address. Funeral services will be Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Auburn Methodist Church, with interment in the Auburn Cemetery.

She was born August 21, 1855, at Mt. Pleasant, Ill., came to Kansas at the age of four and had been a resident of Topeka for the past fifty-seven years. She was a member of the First Christian Church. Surviving are one son, J.W. GARDINER, Topeka; three daughters, Mrs. Edna CURRIER, Greenwood, Ark.; Miss Fay and Miss Sibyl GARDINER, both of the home.

She had been a resident of Eudora for fifty-five years and was one of the organizers of the Eudora Methodist Church, which received its charter in 1885. She was the widow of W.A. FULLER, prominent Eudora Hardware salesman. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. John MOODY and Miss Lillian FULLER, both of Eudora, and one sister, Miss Minnie McCREA of Eudora. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Eudora Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Eudora Cemetery.

He was born March 23, 1854 in Sweden and had made his home in Topeka since 1885. He was a charter member of the Bricklayers and Stonemasons Union of Topeka and was a member of Sunflower Camp. No. 536, Modern Woodmen of America. He is survived by two daughters, Miss Helen and Miss Mabel OLSON; a son, Norris OLSON, and a grandchild, Marimae OLSON, all of Topeka. The body will lie in state at Penwell's Funeral Home pending funeral arrangements. Burial will be in Topeka Cemetery.

Doctor Sweet was the daughter of Ray UFFORD, former manager of the J.C. Penny Store in Topeka, and Mrs. Ufford. She was graduated from the University of Kansas Medical School and later took a course in pathology in New York City. She practiced under the professional name of Elizabeth U. CORBETT. She had planned to open her own laboratory in San Jose when her last illness developed. Besides her parents, now of Campbell, Calif., she is survived by her husband, Louis F. Sweet of the home a son, David Kevin Sweet, 4, of the home. Funeral services were in San Jose, Calif.

Born April 20, 1866, in Perry, he had lived in Maple Hill, Eskridge, Kansas City, Kan., and recently in Osage City. He was a farmer and a member of Modern Woodmen of America. Survivors include two sons, John Kerr of Osage City and David Kerr of Eudora, and a sister, Mrs. John DRAPER, of Tulsa. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Mary BOLIN of St. Marys and Mrs. Isabella JONES, Lee's Summit, Mo.; two sisters, Mrs. Fred CLARK, Maple Hill, and Mrs. Oscar HAMMARLUND, Topeka; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
