Quincy, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Parker Mortuary with burial in Grantville Cemetery. She died Sunday in a Topeka hospital after a long illness. Mrs. Givens had been bedfast for six years. Born October 6, 1878, in the Oakland area of Topeka, she lived here all her life. Her parents, Mrs. and Mrs. PASIA, came to Topeka from France.

    3. The Topeka Daily Capital Tuesday April 4, 1961 Charles McConnell. Charles N. McCONNELL, 71, 1186 MacVicar, died Monday at his home. Born April 5, 1889, near Dover, Mr. McConnell lived in Topeka all his life. He was a member of Lowman Methodist Church, the American Legion and Veterans of World War I of the U.S., Jayhawk Barracks, No. 1113. He retired in October after working 42 years with the Jordan Sunbeam Bakers. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Alice J. McConnell of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Marjorie HUNT, 1832 Lincoln and Mrs. Dorothy J. MacGILL, 3221 Fremont; four grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Lyde M. BRUCE, 1135 Plass; and one brother, Frank McConnell of Phoenix, Ariz. Wall-Diffenderfer Mortuary will announce service time. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

    3. The Topeka Daily Capital Tueday April 4, 1961 Rites Pending for Topekan, H.W. Quarles. Henry E. QUARLES, 74, 319 Kline, died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Dec.18, 1886, in Hopkinsville, Ky., and had been a resident of Topeka since 1920. Mr. Quarles was employed as an elevator operator at the storehouse of the Santa Fe Railway. He was a member of College Avenue Seventh Day Adventist Church where he was a member of the board of deacons and the missionary men's organization. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Beatrice Quarles of the home; four daughters, Mrs. Carnetta BROWN of Minneapolis, Minn., Mrs. Rosetta PRESTON, 2501 Madison; Mrs. Josephine MINTER, 1439 Brock; and Ruth Quarles, 301 Hancock; four sons, Robert T. Quarles, 1197 Lane, William Quarles, 1411 N. Tyler, Dana Quarles and Ricciardo Quarles, both of the home; 25 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one brother, James Quarles of Indianapolis, Ind. Gaines and Son Funeral Home will announce arrangements.

    3. The Topeka Daily Capital Tuesday April 4, 1961 Tosy C. Seyler, Is Dead at 86, Services Set. Services for Tosy C. SEYLER, 86, of the Vassar community will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Vassar Evangelical United Brethren Church. He died Sunday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth DICKERHOFF of Vassar. Mr. Seyler was born March 10, 1875, near Vassar, and lived in that community all his life. He was a farmer. He had been ill about 2 1/2 months. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Dickerhoff, and Mrs. Betty WOODMAS of Lyndon; one son, Edwin SEYLER of Vassar, and three granchildren. Burial will be in the Vassar Cemetery. The body will lie in state this afternoon and until noon Wednesday at the Shaffer Mortuary in Lyndon.

Mrs. Bertha Christina MEYERS, 79, wife of the late Martin MEYERS, died at the home of her son, Ray MEYERS, in Burlingame Friday night. She was born October 17, 1873, in Lincoln County. At 17, she went to Joliet, Ill., to study music and while there took up dressmaking. She established a dressmaking shop in Peterson, where she stayed until her marriage March 4, 1896. Survivors include three brothers, Thomas A NEWTON, Edward Newton and Fred S. Newton, all of Burlingame; a sister, Mrs. Hattie W. OLSEN, Salina; six granddaughters, and five great-grandchildren.

    3. The Topeka Daily Capital Sunday January 6, 1952 D.T. Torrens A former Topekan, D.T. TORRENS, 78, died Saturday afternoon at his home in Kansas City, Mo. Torrens was assiciated withe Davis-Welcome Mortgage Company here for many years. He later became president of the Kansas City Life Insurance Company, and then chairman of t company's board of directors. He had been retired for the past few years. While in Topeka, Torrens was a Potwin resident. Mrs. Torrens died four years ago and is buried here. There were no children but one of the survivors is Paul EDGAR, Topeka, a nephew. The funeral is expected to be Tuesday morning with burial in Topeka.

    3. The Topeka Daily Capital Sunday January 6, 1952 Mrs. Mina North. Word has been received of the death of Mrs. Mina Hardenbrook NORTH, 67, a former Topekan and wife of the late Harry B. North, in Los Angeles, December 31. She was born in Belleville and lived in Topeka for 20 years before moving to California 15 years ago. Her husband was formerly a salesman at Emahizer-Spielman Furniture Company. The family residence was at 1719 Lincoln. Mrs. North moved to California shortly after her husbands death.

    3. The Topeka Daily Capital Sunday January 6, 1952 Peter S. Wall, Sr. Word has been received by Miss Margaret and Miss Mary WALL, 1421 Clay of the death in Mexico of their brother, Peter S. Wall, Sr. He died unexpectedly Saturday at the home of his son, Peters S. Wall, Jr., where he has been visiting for the past several months. He was born in St. Marys, Kan., and spent his early life in Topeka, attending Topeka schools. He was a veteran of the Spanish-American War, having served in the Phillippines. After his discharge from the service, he was editor of the Manila Daily Bulletin. On his return to the United States, he was business manager of a Hutchinson newspaper. During recent years, he was associated with the Direct Advertising Company, Chicago, until he retired three years ago. Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Geraldine HENRICK, Lakewood, Ohio; two brothers, William Wall, Alexandria, La.; and Harry G. Wall, Kansas City, Mo. Funeral arrangements have not been completed.

She lived there until moving to Topeka 30 years ago.     3. The Topeka Daily Capital Sunday January 6, 1952 Mrs. Clifford Stowell Dies on Way to Florida. Mrs. Mae Florence STOWELL, wife of Clifford T. Stowell, died un-expectedly Saturday morning in a Baxley, Ga., hospital. Mrs. Stowell and her husband were en route to Florida when she became ill on the train, presumably of a heart condition, and was taken off the train at Baxley where she died a short time later. Mrs. Stowell was born in Beloit, coming to Topeka with her family in 1918. She was a member of the First Congregational Church and NNS Club of Topeka, and the Eastern Star in Beloit. Mr. Stowell was employed in the building superintendents office of the Santa Fe until his retirement. Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. George GREENWOOD, 1310 Lakeside; a son, Millard N. Stowell, Chicago; five grandchildren, M.N. Stowell Jr., Savannah, Ga., Mrs. Ross F. THOMPSON, 2117 Wayne, Miss Nancy Greenwood, student at Colorado College, Jack and James Greenwood, 1310 Lakeside; two sisters, Mrs. Nancy CREAGOR, Concordia and Mrs. Mary McGRATH, 1018 Polk.

    3. The Topeka Daily Capital Wednesday August 31, 1910 Mrs. Lizzie E. ROUDEBUSH, wife of J.W. ROUDEBUSH, died at Garfield, Wash., Monday morning. J.W. Roudebush is a brother of F.E. Roudebush of this city. Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Roudebush both live in Topeka 25 years ago. The funeral was held yesterday afternoon at Garfield, Wash.
