    3. The Topeka Daily Capital Monday February 6, 1961 Veteran Police Official Dead. Giles Iran CRAMPTON, 71, of 435 Clay, veteran Topeka police officer and former secretary of the Kansas State Peace Officers Association, died Sunday night in a local hospital following a brief illness. Crampton joined the Topeka Police Department in 1933 and retired from the force in 1953. He served as secretary of the Kansas Peace Officers Association from 1943 to 1955 and during most of that period also published the association's official monthly magazine. He was born Mar. 17, 1889, at Pawnee City, Neb., and had been a resident of Topeka since 1929. He was a Mason, a member of Media Grotto and the Eagles Lodge. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Loren G. CUFFEL of Phoenix, Ariz., Mrs. B.D. WAGNER of 3215 Topeka and Mrs. Joseph E. DERRYBERRY of Bartlesville, Okla.; a brother, Lee Crampton of Pawnee City; and two sisters, Mrs. Ruth CONNELLY of Los Angeles, and Mrs. Inez BLISS of Chicago. Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home will announce arrangements.

EVANS, 95, of Osage City who died Saturday in an Emporia hospital. He was born Jan. 17, 1866, in Llendowrey, South Wales, was a retired stockman and former president of the Lebo State Bank. Surviving are two sons, Gwilym R. Evans and David W. Evans, both of Lebo; a daughter, Mrs. Howard WOODBURY of Osage City; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Burial will be in the Arvonia Cemetery. Jones Funeral Home of Lebo is in charge of arrangements.

    3. The Topeka Daily Capital Monday February 6, 1961 Melisa Bunch. Melisa BUNCH of 1324 Monroe was pronounced dead on arrival at St. Francis Hospital Sunday. Police said the woman was picked up at her home by Capitol Ambulance shortly before 3:30 p.m. and rushed to the hospital. Cause of death was not immediately determined but police said it apparently was from natural causes. The body was removed to Gaines and Son Funeral Home.

She was born March 16, 1877, in Rossville and was a member of the Rossville Presbyterian Church, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a graduate student of Menninger Bible Course. Surviving are four nieces and a nephew. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Rossville Presbyterian Church with burial in the cemetery there. The body will lie in state at the Hurley Funeral Home of Rossville from noon today until noon Tuesday.

Mr. Coffman was born July 2, 1890, at Overbrook, and lived most of his life in Topeka. He was a Navy veteran of World War I. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Wila Jean NEAL, 420 Yorkshire Road; two sons, Wilson R. Coffman Jr., of Whittier, Calif., and Vincent Coffman of Houston, Tex.; three brothers, Ross A Coffman and Joseph H. Coffman both of Overbrook and Floyd W. Coffman of Lawrence, and nine grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Overbrook Methodist Church with burial in the Overbrook Cemetery. Legion services will be at the grave. The body will lie in state at the Wall-Diffenderfer Mortuary until 11 a.m. Wednesday.

Betty GAMBER of Wichita; MRs. Edicth WOODS of Dearborn, Mich., Mrs. Earlene KNIGHT, Mrs. Patty HART and MRs. Ruth VENABLE, all of Sedalia; three brothers, Richard J. HART of Sedalia; S.Sgt. K.E.     3. The Topeka Daily Capital Sunday February 5, 1961 Mildred Drenning, Organist, Dies at 81. Mrs. Mildred H. DRENNING, 81, 1514 Washburn, a noted organist, died Saturday in a Topeka hospital of injuries she received in a fall at her home Nov. 8, 1960. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Topeka more than 60 years and was church organist 46 years. She was music supervisor of Topeka Schools from 1904 until 1918. Mrs. Drenning was born Feb.10, 1879, at Napoleon, Ind., and moved to Kansas when she was five. Mrs. Drenning was graduated from El Dorado High School in 1893 and Kansas State Teacher College of Emporia in 1896. She received her B.S. degre in organ from Kansas University in 1912. She was a member of American Guild of Organists, Kansas Guild of Organists and taught the Loyal Women's Class of the church for nine years. She and Frank G. Drenning, a Topeka attorney, were married Christmas Day, 1918. He died in 1941. There are no known survivors. Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Monday at the First Christian Church with burial in Mount Hope Cemetery. Wall-Diffenderfer Mortuary is in charge.

    3. The Topeka Daily Capital Tuesday March 7, 1961 Oscar Blumenstock. Oscar BLUMENSTOCK, 60, former Topekan, died Monday night in Indianapolis, Ind., of a heart attack. Born Jan. 23, 1901 in Topeka, Blumenstock lived in Topeka most of his life. He was a machinist for the Santa Fe Railroad service before leaving for Indianapolis in 1946. He was married to Lola G. MILLER of Topeka in 1938. Survivors include his widow; a daughter, Judy of the home; two sons, James and Thomas of the home; a sister, Mrs. Glenn BAKER, 1206 Quincy; four brothers, George of Springfield, Mo.; Fred of Abernathy, Tex.; John of New Hartford, N.Y.; and Bob of Lincoln, Neb. Services and burial are pending at Indianapolis.

She died Monday at her home. Born in Collettsville, N.C., Mrs. Puett moved to Kansas in 1906. She was a member of the Seward Avenue Baptist Church. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Bertha Puett and Mrs. Lois RIDLON, both of the home, and Mrs. Katherine MAY of Los Angeles; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Oscar HOOD of Charlotte, N.C., and a sister, Ellen HOOD, of Collettsville, N.C. The body will lie in state at the funeral home until service time. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
