The Topeka Daily Capital Thursday October 11, 1951 William O. Berryhill. William Otis BERRYHILL, 66, former Topekan, died Tuesday in Butler, Mo. He was a former employee of the Santa Fe and Missouri Pacific Railroad Companies, and the the Interocean Mill of Topeka and was a member of Orient Lodge No. 51, A.F.&A.M. He left Topeka in 1936. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Irene Berryhill of Butler; a son, Geroge Berryhill, Belvidere, Ill.; two sisters, Mrs. Iva VANCE of Butler and Mrs. Chloe VANCE, Denver, Colo.; and two brothers, Melvin and Carrol BERRYHILL, both of Butler. Graveside services in charge of Orient Lodge No. 51, will be at Topeka Cemetery at 3:30 p.m. Friday.

The Topeka Daily Capital Wednesday January 17, 1951 Peter Henry Schecher Peter Henry SCHECHER, 83, resident of St. Marys more than 40 years, died Monday in Wamego. He was born January 28, 1868 in Everest, Kan. He is survived by two daughters, Miss Helen Schecher of the home and Miss Agnes Schecher, Topeka and a son, Henry Schecher, Denver, Colo. Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Catholic Church at St. Marys with interment in the Mount Calvary Cemetery at St. Marys.
The Topeka Daily Capital Wednesday January 17, 1951 Mrs. Grace M. Briggs. Mrs. Grace McCaflin BRIGGS, 67, of 220 West Norris, died Tuesday morning in a local hospital. She was born October 10, 1883, in Lokomo, Ind., and had lived in Topeka 65 years. She leaves a brother, Fred HUNTER, of Topeka.
The Topeka Daily Capital Wednesday January 17, 1951 Roy R. White. Roy R. WHITE of Riley, a World War I veteran, died Tuesday morning in a Topeka hopsital. He was employed as a rural mail carrier and leaves a brother, Winifred White of Riley.
The Topeka Daily Capital Wednesday January 17, 1951 Charles J. Fisher Charles J. FISHER, 78, of Holton, died Tuesday afternoon. He was born in Platte County, Missouri, December 24, 1872, and had lived in Holton more than a year. Prior to that he had lived in the Soldier vicinity about 70 years. He wa a farmer and stockman. He was married December 30, 1897, to Della MANUEL, who survives. He also leaves three sons, Paul and Harland, of Soldier, and Pearl of Topeka; one daughter, Mrs. Flossie GUNTHER, of Mayetta; a brother, W.L. FISHER, of Manhattan; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was a member of Soldier Lodge No. 240, A.F. & A.M. for 53 years. The lodge will conduct ritualistic services at the grave.
The Topeka Daily Capital Wednesday January 17, 1951 Mrs. Loretta Conroy. Mrs. Loretta CONROY, 101, long-time resident of Kansas and a former Topekan, died Tuesday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J.A. SHIRLEY, in St. Louis, Mo. Mrs. Conroy was born March 6, 1849, in Lebanon, Ohio, and came to Kansas from Illinois in a covered wagon in 1876. She settled in McPherson County and moved to Nortonville in 1895. She lived in Topeka with Mrs. Shirley before they moved to St. Louis about 20 years ago. Despite her advanced age, she was in good health until Thanksgiving Day. She is survived by two son, W. D. Conroy, of Topeka, and Elmer Conroy, of Severance, Kan.; two daughters, Mrs. Lula NEILL, of Farmington, Kan.; and Mrs. SHIRLEY, of St. Louis; nine grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Nortonville Christian Church with interment in Nortonville Cemetery.
The Topeka Daily Capital Wednesday January 17, 1951 Theodore F. Yost. Theodore Franklin YOST, 56, of 1020 Garfield, died Tuesday in a Topeka hospital. He was born December 23, 1894, in Harvard, Neb., and moved to Rush County, Kansas, in 1900. He had been a resident of Topeka since 1937. He was state bindweed supervisor of the state board of agriculture. He was a member of the Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sara Yost, of the home; three children, Hallam T. Yost, Topeka, Miss Mary E. Yost, Kansas City, Mo., and Miss Florence Yost, Miami, Fla.; four sisters and six brothers.

She was born in LaFayette, Ind., October 31, 1872, and had lived in Topeka for 43 years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church. She is also leaves a daughter, Marjorie L. Hill, a son, Paul R. Hill, of the home, and a sister, Mrs. Fred E. DORNE, of Middletown, Ohio.

She was born in Pennsylvania, November 22, 1865, and had lived in Topeka since 1908, coming here from Chester, Neb. She was a member of First Wesleyan Methodist Church and WCTU. She was the wife of the late Herve Kanode. She leaves four daughters, Mrs. Mary WRIGHT of Perry, Mrs. Alice PATTERSON of Topeka and Miss Marguerite Kanode and Mrs. Vera JOHNSON of the home; four sons, Lynn of the home; Lester of Topeka, Ralph of El Segundo, Calif., and Ernest of Lawrence; one sister, Miss Margaret HAMPE of Tulsa; three brothers, the rev. Daniel HAMPE of Akron, Ohio, Charles H. Hampe of Sandusky, Ohio, and WIlliam G. Hampe of Tacoma, Wash.; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Claud PERKINS, 65, retired Capper Publications building superintendent, died Tuesday morning at his home, 634 Horne. He was born April 25, 1885, in Lawson, Mo., and had lived in Topeka since 1913. He formerly was an employee in the construction department of the Santa Fe, and from 1935 until 1946 was with Capper Publications. He was a member of Central Congregational Church and Orient Lodge 51, A.F. & A.M. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Edna Perkins; a daughter, Mrs. Charles HOWES and two grandchildren, Steve and Harriet Howes, all of 527 Danbury Lane, and two sisters, Mrs. Paul W. HUNTING of 1277 Lane and Mrs. D.H. SANDERSON of Dearborn, Mich.
The Topeka Daily Capital Tuesday January 16, 1951 George A. Frisbie. George A. FRISBIE, 86, widely known Jefferson County farmer and stockman died Monday at his home north of Grantville. Mr. Frisbie was born December 24, 1864, in Battle Creek, Mic., and came to Kansas in 1873. After living in Lawrence one year, he moved to his present farm near Grantville. He had made his home on the same farm continually since. He was active in his farm work until the last few weeks of his life. He served as county treasurer of Jefferson County four years and did assessment work in his community several years. He also was purchasing agent for the right of way department of the Kansas Highway Commission four years. He was a member of the Oskaloosa Masonic Lodge and the Roayl Arch Masons of Oskaloosa. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Julia Frisbie, Kansas City, Kan.; and Mrs. Roy E. LINDLEY, of the home; a son, Herbert L. Frisbie, Grantville, eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

WIliam John PETERSON, 76, died Monday at his home, 306 Lake. he was born June 27, 1874, in Sweden and came to the United States when he was 17 years old. He had made his home in Topeka since 1896 and was a member of the East Side Methodist Church. He was a retired carpenter. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Anna Peterson, of the home; two sons, Ralph A. Peterson of the home, and William J. Peterson, Jr., Garden Grove, Calif.; four daughters, Mrs. Cloyd WOLFLEY and Mrs. Fred ISLER, both of Topeka; Mrs. Clayton ADDY, San Diego, Calif., and Mrs. Miles CANNON, Long Beach, Calif., and 10 grandchildren.

He was born October 8, 1889, in Amsterdam, Holland, and came to the United States when he was one year old. He moved to Topeka from Atchison in 1930. He was an employee of the Steel Fixture Manufacturing Co., and a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Erna Mueller, of the home; a daughter, Miss Delores Mueller of the home; a son, Fred Mueller, Harlingen, Texas; a brother, George P. Mueller, Lincoln, Neb.; and two sisters, Mrs. Anna MAROHN, Holland, Mich., and Mrs. Charlotte KRUSMARK, Casper, Wyo.
The Topeka Daily Capital Tuesday January 16, 1951 Dr. Page, Ex-Topekan, Dies in Wichita Hospital. Dr. Willifred PAGE, well-known Kansas physician and a former Topekan, died Monday afternoon at the Veterans Hospital at Wichita after an extended illness. Doctor Page was born in Dayton, Iowa, and attended the Topeka schools. He was graduated in 1907 from the Washburn Medical College and was secretary of his class. During World War I, he served with the Thirty-Second Division hin France and later spent 32 months with the Army of Occupation in Germany. He was a member of the medical staff at the Veterans Hopsital at Wadsworth at one time. Later, he practiced medicine in Holton, Holsington and Ellis. He was a member of the Methodist Church, the Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite Bodies of Salina, Shrine, O.E.S. and the American Medical Association. He is survived by his wife, two sons, Maynard W. Page, 2033 MacVicar, who is associated with the Winter Veterans' Hospital, and John Page, Garden City; two daughters, Mrs. Albert BURNS, Gonzales, Calif., and Mrs. Conrelia FORTUNE, San Clemente, Calif., eight grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Florence Wood RIPPEY, Denver, Colo., and a nephew, H. Paul LITTLE, Kansas City, Kan. Burial will be at Ellis.

He had lived 70 years in the Holton community and had spent most of his working life as a harness maker. He was born August 19, 1866, in Tell City, Ind. He was married to Nina BURKETT February 1, 1919, in the Methodist parsonage at Holton. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Anna BADER, of Tell City, and Mrs. Minnie SCHAUSS, of Mandan, N.D. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Padden Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be in the Holton Cemetery.

The Topeka Daily Capital Sunday November 11, 1951 Melvin Manning. Melvin M. MANNING, 78, died Saturday at the home of his son, Earl Manning, 1501 Boston. Mr. Manning was born August, 31, 1873, in Henry County, Indiana, and had been a resident of Topeka for 35 years. He was married to Miss Carrie L. IJAMS in 1897. She died in 1918. He operated grocery stores at a number of locations in Topeka and in Arrington until his retirement in 1947. Since then he had made his home with his son in Topeka and with a daughter, Mrs. Mildred GREENWOOD, in Bremerton, Wash. In addition to his son and daughter, Mr. Mannning is survived by six grandchildren and a great-grandchild; a sister, Mrs. Rosa JAMES of Rogers, Ark., and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Monday at the Wall-Diffenderfer Mortuary. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
