Topeka, Sept.11, (AP)--Kansas had a population of 1,803,201 on March 1, the state board of agriculture reported today on the basis of assessors' annual enumeration. The total was 58, 752, or .33 of one per cent more than a year ago. Twenty-nine counties registered increases and 75 reported losses. Sedgwick county gained 53, 625 to reach a total of 218, 619 for the biggest increase. The greatest loss was in Allen county, which lost 1,595 inhabitants, bringing the population to 17, 413.

The Topeka Daily Capital Saturday January 31, 1920 J.N. Strickler Dies. Former Real Estate Dealer and Topeka City Official. J.B. STRICKLER, age 69, a former Topeka real estate dealer and politician, died suddenly yesterday in Joplin, according to word received in Topeka. His was the father of Johnson Strickler, engineer for the public utilities commission. Mr. Strickler was a member of the real estate firm of Strickler, Daniels, & Pounds, active during the boom days of Topeka. He was a member of the city council for five years, during which time he was instrumental in securing the first pavements in the city. He also was deputy clerk in the United States district court under A.S. Thomas for five years. He was a resident of Topeka over twenty years. Recently he made his home in Kansas City and was interested in the zinc mining industry at Joplin.
The Topeka Daily Capital Saturday January 31, 1920 Jerry Hussey Dies. Prominent Kansas Pioneer Was Father of State Fire Marshal. Lew T. HUSSEY, state fire marshal, was called to Williamsburg, yesterday by the death of his father, Jerry HUSSEY, aged 75 years. Jerry Hussey had been a resident of the Williamsburg community fifty-one years--was the oldest resident of the community. He served four years in the Civil war and from 1888 to 1892 was register of deeds of Osage county. He was prominent in local politics, G.A.R. and lodge circles. Besides his son, Lew, the state fire marshal, Jerry Hussey is survived by his wife and a daughter, Mary, of Williamsburg. Miss Hussey is a graduate of Washburn college. The funeral will be held at the residence Sunday afternoon.

The body was brought to Topeka today to the home of his sister Mrs. Mildred SCHAMBERG, 212 Jefferson street. The decesased formerly lived in Topeka. He was a member of teh C.M.B.A. Lodge. The funeral will be held at 8 o'clock Wednesday morning at St. Joseph's German Catholic Church. Interment in Mount Calvary cemetery.
