He was born August 4, 1886, in Topeka and was employed as a machinist at the Santa Fe shops 40 years ago. After losing his eye sight, he was employed by the Beatrice Foods Company and the Morris Coal Company. He wa a member of Topeka lodge No. 1, IOOF, and a past noble grand. He was also a member of the Oakland Presbyterian church. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Clara JOHNSON, of the home; a nephew, William A. HARRIS, 825 Oakley; and a niece, Edna May BROCK, Sterling.

    3. The Topeka Daily Capital Sunday April 29, 1951 Frank R. Jennings. Frank R. JENNINGS, 72, 1424 East 23rd, died Saturday evening in a Kansas City, Kan., hospital. He was born at Fort Scott, March 13, 1878, and moved to Junction City when a small boy. He lived there a number of years and then moved to Manhattan, where he had lived 11 years. While there he organized the Plumbers' Union. He then moved to Topeka where he has lived since. He was a member of the Plumbers' Union official here and the United Presbyterian Church in Manhattan. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Nellie Jennings, of the home; one son, Raymond W. Jennings, Topeka; one sister, Mrs. Maude GOOD, San Diego; and two grandchildren.

Surviving are two sons, Kenneth and Daryle, Spokane; three grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Ruth HOMER, all of Spokane.

She was born in Columbiana, Ohio, and came to Kansas around 1901 when she married Dr. Esterly, a prominent surgeon who died in 1921. She had lived in Oberlin, Ohio, and attended Oberlin College. She was a member of the Woman's Club and the First Congregational Church. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. John P. ADAMS, Topeka; one son, Dr. Daniel B. Esterly, Pasadena, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. W.A. SIDDALL, Philadelphia; and seven grandchildren.

He was born May 5, 1858, at Poughkeepsie, New York, and came to Kansas in 1868. He lived in Osage County 83 years, the last 15 of which he made with his daughter. He is survived by five sons, George, Los Angeles; Tom, John and Robert, all of Topeka, and Dave and Leonard, both of Overbrook; 29 granchildren, and 38 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Evangelical United Brethren Church at Vassar, Kan. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery.

    3. The Topeka Daily Capital Sunday April 29, 1951 Oldest Kansan Dies at 109. Mrs. Lucy Woodman Marshall Co. Pioneer. Kansas' oldest citizen, Mrs. Lucy Jane WOODMAN, died at her Irving, Kan., home Saturday at the age of 109 years, 11 months and 26 days. Born in Paw Paw, Mich., May 3, 1841, Mrs. Woodman came to Kansas in the 1890's and made her hom in Marsahll County most of her life. Until last years she enjoyed good health and at the time of her death still had most of her original teeth. She made her home at the time of her death with her grandson, Sen R.G. THOMSON, in Irving. Saw May Changes. During her life time Mrs. Woodman saw history record many changes in America. At the time of her birth James Tyler was President and the western frontier was the Mississippi. She remember her mother hiding her form the Indians during an attack, and she recalled the famous battles of the Civil War from first hand information. At the age of 21 she was married and she and her husband celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1912. Mrs. Woodman's first job was teaching school for $20 a month. Progressive Outlook. Always progressive, Mrs. Woodman kept abreast of the times and was eager to learn and do the things required in modern day life. She took her first airplane ride after her 100th birthday and is probably one of the few people to travel in all the various means transportation from ox car to airplane. Mrs. Woodman was a life ong member of the Presbyterian Church and was until a few years ago active in church work at Irving. Until she was forced to quit sewing a few years ago, she made quilts and other fancy handiwork. Many Descendants. Mrs. Woodman is survived by five grandchildren; John W. THOMSON, Irving; W. B. Thomson, St. Joseph, Mo.; Mrs. Lewis DeVOSS, Los Angeles, Mrs. Irvin MORLEY, Altadena, Calif,; and Senator Thomson of the home. She also ahs three great-grandchildren and 14 great, great-grandchildren. No funeral arrangements had been made late Saturday.

REAMES and Miss Margaret Killilay both of Topeka; and Mrs. F.O. MUCKRIDGE, Salem, Ore.; a son, James Killilay, Jr., Leavenworth; four stepsons, Martin, Edward, and Henry Killilay, all of Los Angeles, Calif., and Jack Killilay, Miami, Fla.; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchilden and two brothers, Ike and Clark ROBERTSON, both of Wolcott, Kan. Funeral services will be at the Sacred Heart Church at Leavenworth with interment in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Leavenworth.

He was born October 30, 1877, near Bern, Kan., and for 37 years he was a farmer and stockman in Nemaha County. He retired from the farm and moved to Topeka in 1944. He was a member of the Methodist Church at Corning, Kan. He was married February 28, 1900, to Emma M. BLAUER of Corning. Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Arthur Hanni, Topeka; two daughters, Mrs. Marie ANDERSON and Mrs. Beulah BROWN, both of Topeka; a brother-in-law, William J. BLAUER, of the home; a granddaughter, Mrs. Marilyn WHITE, Fayetteville, N.C.; a brother, John Hanni, Mayetta; and two sisters, Mrs. Ed HINTON, Bern, Kan., and Mrs. Pete RAMSEYER, Abilene. JEFFERSON, 18, of Topeka was killed in action March 4 in Korea, according to a message received Thursday by his mother, Mrs. Flossie THOMAS, 1422 Chandler. She previously had received word from the Department of Defense that he was missing in action. Private Jefferson, a native Topekan, joined the Army last June. He received his basic training at Fort Riley and had been overseas since October. Besides his mother, he is survived by six half-brothers, Richard Augustus, Albert Thomas, and Harold Mays, all of Topeka; Willford Brown, Lawrence, and Lloyd Glover, Omaha, Neb.; two half-sisters, Mrs. Orvetta CUSHINBERRY, and Miss Alflean THOMAS, both of Topeka; two uncles, f.L. and James Jefferson both of Topeka, eight neices and nine nephews.

    3. The Topeka Daily Capital Friday April 27, 1951 E.D. (Ki) Keilmann Funeral Today. Earl D. KEILMANN, 65, veteran member of The Daily Capital staff and a newspaper man more than 40 years, died Thurday morning at the Winter Veterans' Hospital from a heart attack. He was taken to the hospital Wednesday after being stricken at home. "Ki" as he was familirly known by his friends was one of the old timers on The Daily Capital and served in many capacities on the editorial staff. He also was on the Lawrence Journal-World and the Topeka State Journal during the early days of his long career. Shortly after WIBW was purchased by Senator Capper, he started one of the first children's radio programs in the United States and was known as "Uncle Dave" by thousands of his juvenile listeners. He also wrote a daily radio column for The Daily Capital for several years. Devoted To Theater. Ki also was interested in the theater. One of his duties for years was to review various shows that appeared in this city. He interrupted his newspaper career in the early 20's to become manager of the Grand Theater for several months. His love for newspaper work finally overcame his desire to become a theater manager, so he returned to The Daily Capital. He was born March 13, 1886, in Huntington, Canada, and was a graduate of Kansas University. He served in France as a first lieutenant in an artillery unit during World War I. He was a member of the Military Order of World Wars. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Topeka Lodge No. 17, A.F.& A.M., Knights Templar, Arab Shrine, American Legion, and the Elks Lodge. Funeral Today. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Blanche Keilmann, of the home, 326 Hillside; a daughter, Mrs. L.T. BEISECKER, Route 7, two grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Julia MOORE, Enid, Okla., and Mrs. Beulah RICKETTS, Lawrence; and a niece, Miss Kathryn BUNTON of Lawrence. The funeral will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Friday, at the Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Milton TABOR, A.L. SHULTZ, Virg HILL, Ward MOORE, Arthur CONKLIN and Ray MORGAN. The family requests that no flowers be sent.
