Born in New Jersey in 1866, she came to Topeka when a child. She was a member of the East Topeka Methodist Church and of Beulah Chapter, O.E.S. She leaves one daughter, Mrs. Vera HORNE of San Pedro, Calif., and three sons, Earl G. of Topeka, Clarence M. of Wichita, and Cald P. of Uvalde, Tex. The body will be brought to Topeka for funeral services and burial. Wall-Diffenderfer's will announce arrangements.

    3. The Topeka Daily Capital Sunday April 20, 1947 Joseph Shenk. Joseph SHENK, 77, died Saturday at his home in Rossville. He was born in Elizabethtown, Pa., and moved to Hoyt, Kansas, in 1880. He had made his home in Rossville since 1891. He was a member of the Chruch of the Brethren. Surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Annie ERB and Mrs. Lida CLESS of Rossville, Mrs. Alice RIDDLE and Mrs. Fannie RESER of Topeka, and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at the Methodist church in Rossville, Monday afternoon at 2 with burial in the Rossville cemetery. The Parker mortuary is in charge.

    3. The Topeka Daily Capital Sunday April 20, 1947 Charlie E. Deeringer. Charlie Edward DEERINGER, 71, died unexpectedly at his home in North Topeka, Saturday. Mr. Deeringer was born in Iowa and moved with his parents to Nortonville when he was a child. In 1922, he moved to the Fairview community, where he had been a resident for the past 25 years. He was a farmer and dairyman and a member of the Pleasant Hill Christian Church in Nortonville. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Iva Deeringer; a daughter, Mrs. Gladys HANDLEY of Topeka; two sisters, Mrs. George GOODPASTURE of Atchinson and Mrs. Ed. BIDDING; two brothers, Ronald of Kansas City, Mo., and Frank of St. Joseph, Mo., and six grandchildren. The Eslinger Funeral Home will announce final arrangements.

Mr. Hill, pastor of Shiloh Baptist church, had been visiting in Xenia, and was en route back to Topeka when he received word of his brother's death. He returned to Xenia immediately. Besides the brother, Mr. Hill leaves his wife, Mrs. Amanda Hill, five daughters and a sister, all of Xenia. Funeral services will be held in Xenia Tuesday.

She was born in Ulm, Germany, April 28, 1871, and came to the United States a year later. The family first settled in Des Moines, Iowa, where Mrs. Fox received her education. She was married to Charles F. Fox, November 15, 1893, and the couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1943. Mrs. Fox was a member of the Methodist Church, the 101 Thimble Club, the Order of Eastern Star, the Saturday Afternoon Club at Burlingame and the Security Benefit Association. She leaves one daughter, Mrs. Nally F. SPANGLER of the home and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Fox preceded his wife in death in 1944. Funeral services will be held at the Wall-Diffenderfer Mortuary, Monday at 2 p.m., and burial will take place in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
