Burial in Mount Auburn cemetery. RICE--Mrs. Matilda Rice, 84, died early this morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. A. DAYO, 709 Madison street. Arrangements for the funeral have not been completed. CRYDERMAN--John L. CRDYDERMAN, steward at the Union Pacific hotel for several years, died yesterday afternoon in a local hospital from complications following an operation. Arrangements for the funeral have not been completed.
The Topeka Daily Capital Thursday May 20, 1920 Crawford Funeral Today. Services Will Be Held at Home at 2 o'clock. Funeral services for Mrs. Isabel CRAWFORD, widow of former Gov. Samuel J. Crawford, will be held this afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home of Mrs. Hortense Crawford, 1115 Tyler street. The funeral service will be read by Mr. H.L.Rhodes. The pall bearers will be W.R. Smith, J.E. Griest, Harold T. Chase, Schuyler Nichols, Frank Merriam, E.A. Tirrell and Marco Morrow. Interment will be in Topeka cemetery. Mrs. Crawford, on of Kansas' pioneer women, died at the Crawford home early yesterday morning, following a paralytic stroke last week. SHe had been one of Topeka's most prominent women since 1855. After the death of Governor Crawford in 1913, she had made her home with Senator and Mrs. Capper, her only daughter, until they went to Washington, D.C. Since that time her home had been with Mrs. Hortense Crawford, her daughter-in-law. She is survived by Mrs. Capper, two grandchildren George Marshall Crawford, jr., and Miss Isabel Crawford, and a brother, George D. CHASE, of Washington, D.C.

WALKER--Funeral services for Mrs. Amanda WALKER, 79, who died at her home in Emporia, will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock form Penwell's chapel, burial in Rochester cemetery. Mrs. Walker was an old resident of Topeka, livin gon the Northside for many years before moving to Emporia about ten years ago. Mrs. Walker is survived by four daughters, Mrs. A. KARR, of Topeka; Mrs. Mary GRANT of California; Miss Jennie WALKER and Mrs. Winnie RICE of Emporia. BAILEY--The funeral of Edward BAILEY 74 years old, who died Monday will be held at 3:30 Thursday afternoon form his home, 1413 East Sixth avenue. Burial in Topeka cemetery. FAGAN--William A. FAGAN, 76 years old, died yesterday afternoon at his home, 412 East Twelfth street. Arrangements for the funeral have not been completed. LANGSTON--The funeral of Louis LANGSTON, 50 years old, who died Monday, was held at 2:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon from Shellabarger's chapel. Burial in Mount Auburn cemetery. MORAN--The funeral of Mrs. Daisy MORAN, who died Sunday will be held at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon from her home, 1403 Boswell avenue. The body will be taken to Whiting, Kan., Thursday morning for burial.
The Topeka Daily Capital Wednesday May 19, 1920 Mrs. Eugene Burnett Dies. She Formerly Was Miss Beulah Perkins, a Topeka Teacher. Word has been recieved of the death yesterday in Kansas City of Mrs. Eugene J. BURNETT, formerly Miss Beulah PERKINS, of Topeka. The cause of her death was pneumonia. Altho she had made her home in Kansas City since her marriage, a number of years ago, Mrs. Burnett was well known in Topeka. She was a graduate of the Topeka high school, and a number of years taught in Valley Falls also. She is survived by her husband and little daughter, Margaret May, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H.S. Perkins, of Topeka, and a sister, Mrs. Paul WHARTON of Kansas City. The funeral will be held in Kansas City, and burial will be Thursday in Valley Falls.

The Topeka Daily Capital Sunday May 16, 1920 T.W. Dare Is Dead. He Achieved Prominence by Having Adopted Daughter Come by Express. T.W. DARE, who acheived prominence thruout the country last October by getting one of the queerest express "packages" ever received in topeka, died May 10 at Santa Barbara, Cal., according to word reaching here. The express "package" was Miss Doreen STEER, who came from her home in England in the care of agents of the American Railway Express to become the adopted daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dare who then lived at 907 Lincoln street. The Dares and Miss Steer left early in January to make their home in Santa Barbara. Mr. Dare had resided in Topeka about five years. Mrs. Dare and Miss Steer survive. The body of Mr. Dare was shipped to Gardner, Kans., for burial.

Mrs. Kennard was born in West Virginia and spent most of her life in Nebraska. She came to Topeka about a year ago to make her home with her daugher. She leaves three daughters, Mrs. McMahan, Mrs. Maude LAHM of Elm Creek, Neb., and Mrs. Bessie ELLISON of Geneva, Neb.; a son, Arthur Kennard of Morrison, Ill.; three brothers, Samson GIVEN of North Platte, Neb.m, E.W. Given of Morrison, Ill., and Elvell GIven of Pueblo, Colo.; 19 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral services and burial will take place Sunday at 2 p.m. in Geneva, Neb., with the Eslinger Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

She had been ill for about three months. Besides her husband, who is serving in the United States Navy at Washington, D.C., Mrs. Strowig leaves two daughters, Linda Joan, 4, and Dawn Marie, 1 year old; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed SWEENEY, of Providence, and her mother-in-law, Mrs. Werner Strowig, 1634 Mulvane. Funeral services will take place in Providence. Mrs. Werner Strowig was in Providence at the time of her daughter-in-law's death.
