Valley Falls.--Harold Milton "Buck" MURRAY, 56, Valley Falls, died Saturday in a Winchester hospital where he had been readmitted earlier in the week. He had cancer. He was born Feb. 17, 1912, at Valley Falls, son of George and Hattie Murray, and spent most of his life in the Valley Falls community. He had been a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church at Manhattan. He had been a custodian and deliveryman for Santa Fe Railway the past two years. He was married to Opal FULTHEM, Dec. 17, 1931 at Manhattan. Besides his wife, survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Pauline POPE, 419 Leland, Mrs. Ina MILLER, 2109 E. 12th, and Mrs. Rosemary HAMPTON, 1047 Lawrence, all in Topeka; four sons, Harold Murray Jr., Wichita, David Murray, 2721 Filmore Court, Topeka, Joseph Arthur Murray, Leavenworth, and Herbert Allen Murray, Kansas City, Mo.; his twin sister, Mrs. Harriet CECIL, Omaha, Neb.; three other sisters, Mrs. Augusta FORD, Stockton, Calif., Mrs. Frank TOLLIVER, Kansas City, Kan., and Mrs. Freda PERRY, Portland, Ore.; a brother, Virgil Murray, Los Angeles, Calif.; and 26 grandchildren. Joe HUGHES, 31, Jacksonville, N.C., formerly of Oskaloosa, who died Wednesday in a Camp LeJeune, N.C., hospital where he was admitted March 23 after he was injured in a car accident. He was born Dec. 13, 1936 at Sweetwater, Tex., and spent his early life at Amarillo, Tex. He lived at Oskaloosa until 1966. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, having served in the Marines from 1955 to 1959. He rejoined the Marines in 1966 and spent a year in Vietnam. He was attached to the Second Marine Division at Camp LeJeune, N.C. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Edna Hughes, at home; four daughters, Patsy Huges and JoDawn Hughes, at home; a son, David Joe Hughes, at home; his mother, Mrs. Essie Hughes, Lubbock, Tex.; two sisters, Mrs. Jessie BELL, Lubbock, Tex., and Mrs. Mildred PIETSCH, Roscoe, Tex.; and a brother, Sammie Hughes, Dallas, Tex. He was born Sept. 27, 1893 at Joliet, Ill., and spent most of his life in Topeka. He was a veteran of World War I. He was a member of Orient Lodge, No. 51, AF&AM, and Phillip Billard Post No. 1650 of Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a painter and decorator before he retired. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ida M. Davis, at home; a son, John Davis, Jr., Kanas City, Mo.; a brother, Roy H. Davis, Chicago, Ill.; and three grandchildren. Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Monday at Wall-Diffenderfer Mortuary. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

She was born Oct. 12, 1869 near Lawrence. She lived in Harveyville community 62 years before she moved to Topeka in 1950. She had been a member of Oakland Methodist Church. She had been a hospital patient since March 13. She had leukemia. Mrs. Eades was a fifth grade teacher at Highland Park Central Elementary School, 2714 Indiana. She was born Oct. 11, 1945, at Marion, Ohio, and spent most of her life at Independence in Montgomery County. She was graduated from Independence Junior College. She was graduated from Kansas State Teachers College at Pittsburg where she majored in elementary education. She had been a member of First Methodist Church at Independence, Topeka Teachers Assn., Kansas State Teachers Assn., and National Education Assn. Survivors included her husband, Gerald Eades, at home; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gail M. STOUT, Independence; a brother, Stephen G. Stout, Independence; and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. H. J. He had been a member of the Holy Name Catholic Church and United Mine Workers of America. His wife, Mrs. Anna Eliabeth Misner, died Sept. 3, 1963. Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Anna MILLER, at home; Mary Misner, Florence Misner and Mrs. Evelyn Gifford, all of 1604 College, and Mrs. Cecillia PALMER, 3324 Front; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Mrs. Hayward was born Jan. 10, 1878, in Swabville, northwest of Valley Falls in Jefferson County. She attended school in Swabville and was an 1899 graduate of Valley Falls High School. She lived in Swabville until 1933 when she moved to a farm near Valley Falls. She was one of the oldest members of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Valley Falls, and a charter member of Swabville Community Club. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Helen FLENTIE, Sabetha; a son, George Hayward, Valley Falls, and three grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in St. Paul's Luther Church, Valley Falls.
