Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Wall-Diffenderfer Chapel for Robert Blair BEASLEY, 68, 707 Garfield, advertising manager of the Emahizer-Spielman Co. of Topeka, who died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born at Pittsburgh, May 28, 1892, and was a graduated of Boyles Business College at Council Bluffs, Iowa. He was a building contractor at Omaha until 1920, and district supervisor for a stove company of Detroit, Mich., until 1926. He was advertising manager for a furniture company in Omaha until 1931 when eh was named to the position with Emahizer-Spielman. He was a member of York Rite; the Methodist Church, Arab Shrine of Toeka nd Bluff City Masonic Lodge of Council Bluffs, Iowa. Surviving are his widow Mrs. Selma Beasley of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Jeanne OLIVER, 1037 Wayne; five sons, Robert R. Beasley, of Midwest City, Okla., Donald L. Beasley of Des Moines, Iowa, Allan K. Beasley of Valley Center, Richard L. Beasley of Kanas City, Kan., and William S. Beasley, 1262 Garfield; a sister, Mrs. Erma McCARGAR of East Pembroke, N.Y.; 14 garndchildren and one great-grandchild. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

    3. The Topeka Daily Capital Thursday December 22, 1960 Martin Toms. Funeral will be at the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home at Emporia for Martin TOMS, 69, 834 Monroe, who died here Tuesday. He was born June 3, 1891 at Emporia, and farmed in that community before moving here in 1945. He was employed at the Goodyear Plant and Highway Department Maintenance Shop before retirements. Surviving are four brothers, Abe Toms of Lebo and Ben Toms, Dewey Toms and William J. Toms all of Emporia; three sisters, Mrs. Elmer THOMAS and Mrs. Sue RADIG, both of Emporia, and Mrs. Nellie BROWN of Waverley. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery at Emporia. Wall-Diffenderfer was in charge of local arrangements.

Surviving are her widower, Raymond Miller of the home; and a brother, Everett PATTERSON, of Burlingame. Burial will be in the Burlingame Cemetery. Carey Funeral Home is in charge.

    3. The Topeka Daily Capital Thursday December 22, 1960 Olive C. Lemon. Services willbe announced for Mrs. Olive C. LEMON, 87, 1314 Winfield, who died in a Topeka nursing home Tuesday. She was born in Ohio Sept. 1, 1873, and lived at Willard and Delia before moving here two years ago. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Edith AGARD of Oxnard, Calif., and several grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Parker Mortuary is in charge. Burial will be at Maple Hill.

    3. The Topeka Daily Capital Thursday December 22, 1960 Holton Car Dealer, A.B. Haubold, Dies. A.B. (Slim) HAUBOLD, veteran Holton automobile dealer, land owner and former representative to the State Legislature, died at Holton Wednesday after an illness of several months. He was 72. Haubold was born Sept. 17, 1888, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Haubold, prominent farmers of Paxico. During World War I he taught automobile mechanics for the Army at Kansas City. He operated his first garage at Maple Hill in 1919, moving from there to Eskridge in 1921. In 1924 he became a Chevrolet dealer and held the same franchise ever since. Haubold moved to Holton in 1933 where he became assocaited with Harry Burnett in the automobile business. He purchased Burnett's interest in 1948. He was married on Feb. 14, 1932 to Elsie HOCKHAUS of Alma. An infant son died at birth. Mrs. Haubold died April 14, 1955, and on Jan. 19, 1956, he was married to Mrs. Lena HAKES, of Topeka. In addition to his widow, he is survived by three brothers, Carl Haubold of Wetumka, Okla., Gus Haubold of Long Beach, Calif.; and Joe Haubold, 1323 Oakland; two sisters, Mrs. Lena SUTTER and Mrs. Lottie CLARK, both of Paxico; a stepson, William HAKES, of Topeka; a step daughter, Mrs. Monace MADDER of Detroit, Mich.; and four step-grandchildren. Haubold was prominent in the Holton community. He owned 1,320 acres of land in Jackson County and was a member of the Holton Masonic Lodge, a charge member of the Rotary Club and a former officer in the International U.S. 75 Association. He was a member of the Chamber of Commerce, the Kansas Livestock Association and The Farm Bureau. He was a representative in the State Legislature from the 36th district for two terms. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Methodist Church in Holton Cemetery. Mercer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

    3. The Topeka Daily Capital Thursday December 22, 1960 Maude Allen, State Figure's Widow, Dies. Mrs. E. Maude ALLEN, 84, of 213 E. 9th, the widow of George A. Allen, Jr., one-time Kansas state superintendent of public instruction, died Wednesday night in a Topeka hospital. She had been ill for some time. Her husband preceded her in death 28 years ago. Mrs. Allen, a native of Circleville, was a member of the First Methodist Church here and Beulah Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star. Among the survivors are one daughter, Mrs. William RICKERT, of Marysville; three sons, Charles M. Allen of Wichita, Fred A. Allen of Oak Park, Ill., and Paul J. Allen of 820 Gage; 9 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be at Penwell-Gabel Chapel at 3:30 p.m. Friday, followed by burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery.

    3. The Topeka Daily Capital Tuesday December 20, 1960 Charles Steele Of St. Marys Dies At Age 87. Charles John STEELE, 87, of St. Marys died Monday after a long illness. He was born Dec. 22, 1872, at Eksja, Sweden, and came to the St. Marys community in 1890, settling on a farm north of town. He was a member of the Lutheran Church at St. Marys and a charter member of the St. Marys Farmers Union which was formed in 1919. Mr. Steele married Esther A. HALLQUIST in 1899 and they observed their 60th wedding anniversary May 24, 1959. Survivors include his widow of the home; four daughters, Mrs. Ellen KARGACIN of Anaconda, Mont., Mrs. Ruby REZAC of Rossville, Mrs. Alemdea CARLSON of Kansas City, and Mrs. Adeline RADEMACHER of Kansas City; two sons, Harold Steele of Emmett and Clifford Steele of St. Marys; 12 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Verschelden Funeral Chapel in St. Marys with burial in Valley View Cemetery at St. Marys. The body will lie in state from 5 p.m today until service time.

    3. The Topeka Daily Capital Monday December 19, 1960 Rolla T. Fry Is Dead At 56; Rites Pending. Rolla Theran FRY, urban traffic engineer for the Kansas State Highway Commission, died Sunday following an extended illness. He had been employed by the highway department for 27 years. Fry, 56, lived at 2005 W. 2nd. He was born Dec. 3, 1904, at Pawnee Rock, and had been a Topeka resident for the past 24 years. He attended Sterling College and was graduated from the University of Colorado with a degree in civil engineering. He was a member of the Topeka Engineers Club, Kansas Engineering Society, Saturday Night Literary Club, Topeka Toastmaster Club, Topeka Tennis Club, Siloam Lodge 225 AF&AM, and Sigma Nu fraternity. He attended Potwin Presbyterian Church. Survivors include his widow, Veva, of the home; two sons, T. Jan Fray, 1909 W. 6th, Lynn G. Fry, Orlando, Fla.; a brother, Fred Fry and a sister, Mrs. Ina McMILLAN, both of Pawnee Rock; and his mother, Mrs. R.M. Fry, Larned. Arrangements will be announced by the Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home.
